Third story in R.A.M., "From the Empire". Realpolitik! Now that's more like it. Also, in a stunning departure from t3h Real World history, the Russian upper nobility appear to be feudalist bloodsuckers who prey on the toiling peasantry and proletariat. It is pretty genius because I was wondering how the Empire worked in practical terms, and the book was like "one word: boyars" and I was like "...oh, that's all right then."

It's funny because it's totally a James Bond setup, except Abel kind of fails in the role of James Bond.

Each chapter/short story in Trinity Blood begins with a Biblical quote, like as not something a bit weird like Esther or Nehemiah, to which in my current hurry to get on with the story I've not been paying much attention. However the quote at the beginning of this story is Ethiopean Enoch 10:2 (which the Internet edition I just googled up sez is actually verse four - "Then explain to him the consummation which is about to take place; for all the earth shall perish; the waters of a deluge shall come over the whole earth, and all things which are in it shall be destroyed") which is sort of... whoa. XD There is Roman Catholic Apocrypha and then there is hardcore. However I must report sadly that Latin doesn't katakana-ize better than any of the modern languages that have sprung from it.

Hmm, I think I'm going to go and find Mirage 15 so I can summarize it. XD Might not be done tonight, though, depending.

In other news, I delayed leaving work today waiting for raw scans of Bleach 178 to surface, and just now it actually crossed my mind to wait up until [livejournal.com profile] lcseifhoan finishes reading Tokyo Babylon vol.7 and posts about it. XD I should stop denying that fandom is basically my life. (Sarah has managed to avoid all knowledge about the TB/X continuity, down to points like "What's with Seishirou's eye in this scan?" and "Who and what is a Kamui?" She's been reading TB this week at a rate of 1-2 volumes a night, and posting her thoughts and speculation accordingly. The comment threads are hilarious due to the sheer contorsionary non-spoilering non-stupid-eyeball-joke-making willpower on display. I think it's a truism in shoujo fandom that spoilering someone for TB/X is the fastest ticket to Hell one can ride, except there are so few people who aren't spoilered for it that the point is nigh moot. XD

...Speaking of which, nobody tell me what happens to them in TRC. I will find out myself.)

I still haven't read or watched either TB or X... Amazingly enough, I just know the guy is bad, that's all... Not everyone is a Clamp fan or has even tried it yet so yep, there are still people to spoil which is why I'm staying away from her posts about that :)

"From The Empire" - great, isn't it? :) Did you discover the joy of Isaak von Kampfer, in all his Schiller-Keats-etc quoting glory yet? :) When you do, I can tell you a little bit more about what the mysterious "9=2" thing is
all about. ;)

Am halfway through the second R.A.M. novel myself, and starting to really enjo y this timeline. And as for ficcing, wait until hitting the cut-off point, where Yoshida-sensei died and left all this uber-plot completely UNFINISHED. :)) Heck, I am contemplating actually writing a fanfic myself... :)

^^;;;

What's Bleach? And does it have something to do with Tokyo Babylon...? I assume it's not something they put in the wash..

^^;;; I'm sorry for being so amused! I... just... you'll understand if you re-read your entries after you finish X.

Bleach is a Weekly Jump series, and widely agreed to be more exciting than any of the others (Naruto, Prince of Tennis...) at the moment. XD

Thanks for the info. And, ah, it's okay. ^^;; I probably sound really silly.

*wonders whatever you must think of my Seishirou-uke theory..*
