The ending of Vagrant Story is Up To You. More or less. What I told Erin was that there were something like five or six major lines of interpretation... and in two of them you can write post-game yaoi. In the simplest one, you can't. And I've been going with the simple explanation all the way through, thanks I suppose to the words of some fictional British detective or other taken to heart: there's a question of structural aesthetics involved. Nevertheless, it *is* Lady-or-the-Tiger. I figured it wouldn't have to come down to that, though, since I didn't actually plan on writing anything post-game. Post-series is speculative by definition, and my game was deduction. Over-thinker? You bet. :P
However, there is Joshua. And it's rather difficult to write Joshua *pre*-game, POV and all without a memory perspective.
(And somewhat less canon-respectfully, where the bloody hell do I *post* this if it turns out entirely yaoi-free? In with the Miaka/Tamahome, for cripes' sakes?)
