Listening to Baby V.O.X. invariably reminds me of the original story I want to write about the formation of a girlpop band. Whenever I say this in public people beam and respond, "a parody, right?" Well - no. Not a parody. :P I have the whole thing plotted out in my head, and it's all unrealistic premises, melodramatic rivalry, upbeat mottos, sparkly romances with animus figures, cheese-tastic angst... and eventually complex sober reflections, *real* angst, and yuri/shounen-ai. Meaning that it'd all fall down utterly if I tried to write it as an original story, because what it *is* is a pure Japanese shoujo manga à la Gravitation or Kaikan Phrase. About 10 tankoubons worth, allowing for gag and such. Which I would draw if I had the l33t art skillz, because I'm convinced I could make it work; just not as a text story.
Of course, I can't draw ten tankoubons of shoujo manga. So I've figured out another way. I'm not sure it'd work properly, since I can't think of anyone else who's done it *g*, but it's worth a try. I'd still have to draw a bit, though. That part's inevitable. But then, I have the character designs done already.
