In IMAX, which was like $17.50 on a Sunday night. Good grief.

* Kept squinting at the Grindelwald dude like, where have I seen him before? ...On the Captive Prince discussion comm, I'm now guessing. Incidentally I just Googled to remind myself of the spelling and apparently he is marrying Ginny Weasley. WHAT.

* Nick Cave, Hermione? Really? Nick Cave?

* I gotta say I am with Ron on this one: the only ppl who want to see Harry/Hermione manips airbrushed into scary post-Twilight vampiricism are the ppl who make them on the Internet. It was like one of those cringey fanart roundups [livejournal.com profile] marej used to do. Voldemort: BANNED FROM LIVEJOURNAL

* The pacing is finally right in that it conveys the feel of the book, properly - sort of grim teen-lit survivalism, from mundane home to wizarding home to city squatting to a tent in the middle of nowhere, each time ejected into further isolation and depression... On the other hand, grim. If one had one's druthers, would one prefer the series to have blown up to double movies circa GoF/OotP when the books were more "riotous tapestry of characters and events" and less "Harry and Hermione trudging to Mordor"? I mean, the actors would all be like 30 by the end, but. XD

* There is something kind of the matter with Snape's hair. Too much body???

* ...Nick Cave?

EXACTLY MY REACTION. Couldn't believe no one had mentioned it, either. (And I always click the spoiler cut, aha.)

i couldn't help laughing during the sparkly harry/hermoine segment. like. seriously? perhaps i was too caught up imagining what it would be like to act that with someone who was kind of a brother-figure. XD

...who the hell is Nick Cave?

The very sad thing is that I swear I meant to send you this link www.soupnutsy.ca to make you have lunch there when you came to tdot. Which, of course, I didn't. so sad. but there's gonna be next time, yeah?

yeah, I thought the pacing of the movie was pretty excellent, considering a large chunk of the 7th book is basically man vs wild: wizard style. laughed so hard at your voldemort and harry/hermione comment.

Tom Felton also does a mean American accent!

OMG YES, I was just talking to Chrissie about this, it was such an obvious fanart moment - if the amulet was trying to get itself smashed, it couldn't have picked a better way. MY EYES.

MTE on the Nick Cave thing.

I was a pretty drunk during that scene and had to do some "research" on the internet afterwards just to make sure.
