petroniaI spent Valentine's Day with Oracle SQL. (D, I will not offer to help you with the Great Evil as of this time, as I suck. Subject to revision if/when I ace the final. XD) Handed in at midnight, broken and exhausted; called home to find my sister still up and hyper, the wretch. Told me something incoherent about the aforementioned Evgeny Plushenko (whom she refers to as EP, or Plushy) and a lace skating outfit. Was, unfortunately, too tired to laugh much.
My sister's friend Svetlana will lend her the tape so's I can see this with my friend Tatiana. ...Slightly creepy put like this, isn't it?
Initial D fanfic. *Any* Initial D fanfic. Puh-lease. I've read all the sucky ones, and the good ones three times at least; don't make me write this all by my lonesome. At least in WK or GW or SD I never *lacked*. I named my fic, BTW: after a BoA song, BoA being the 15-year-old Korean version of Mariah Carey. I have no shame. And no, it isn't "Amazing Kiss", damn your eyes.

Today I went to Marie-Hélène's birthday party and met a shoujo anime fan. You know the shoujo anime fan because she's the one doodling bishounen on the napkin at the Japanese restaurant; and by now I can pinpoint a certain light in the eyes that tells me you're involved in something chotto ayashii - Marvel comix, maybe, or Trek or Whitewolf. Something like that. Anime falls into that general category. After all most people who take up Japanese don't do so because they want to watch 'toons with the subtitles off... At any rate this girl was singing bits of anime themes to Marie to see if she recognised them, and I had downed two shots of warm sake in quick succession (twenty-minute giggly head-rush, and then it's over), so I was singing along right there in the restaurant. Ten-second lag between the time your lips synch and the time your brain dredges up the associated title and series: Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres, Hana Yori Dango, Angel Sanctuary - Angel Sanctuary? *Not* "Knife of Romance" either, but "Sanctus", the opening theme of the first drama CDs. Someone who knows where her towel is at, in fandom terms. I was impressed. She said she liked Gundam Wing as well. Rurouni Kenshin, Marmalade Boy, Shoujo Kakumei Utena. Had seen Basara. Wouldn't mind getting her hands on Yami no Matsuei. We had to leave quickly, she went home, our bunch went to karaoke, I didn't get her name. Didn't ask if she was a yaoi fangirl either. *Is* it socially acceptable to ask people you've just met about what is essentially a pr0n preference? ...I mean, not that it wasn't a foregone conclusion or anything. Only a yaoi fangirl would like both Gundam Wing *and* Angel Sanctuary. ^^;
