Catching up on two months' worth of manga

TRC 166-173: the sensation of deja vu resolved itself into the realization that I have personally IN REAL LIFE had the Tomoyo->Kurogane conversation with somebody, like, just recently. You guys. I'M TURNING INTO PRINCESS TOMOYO YOU GUYS. How incredibly sad is that.

Fai: now that I'm thinking about it rationally, I don't even need this magic anymore! This vampiric powers deal with my personal blood donor-slave is a pretty sweet setup!
Seishirou: Y HALO THAR REMEMBER ME.

It's always good to see Kendappa-ou too. Other than that CLAMP gets no prizes because if you claim to understand what the shit has been going on with the plot since Celes you are clearly deluded. If after all the angst, maiming and name mix-ups it turns out Fei Wong Reed was trying to revive Clow or something on that order it would be really, really lame.

Shaoran and Watanuki: totally cousins.

The two chapters of Steel Ball Run to come in this space once I'm done reading them. XD

Turn around for five minutes and My Bloody Valentine reunites, now this. XD

SBR 30-31: Gyro actually managed to redeem Swiss Guard dude! Seeing as he fixed up the sister who is alive and everything. Top hat dude is still kicking as well, I suspect some sort of showdown to come between those two over Lucy. Also, Gyro WON THE STAGE. Since it was by beating Poco Loco head on Swiss Guard is probably right in concluding that Jesus walks with him, as it were.

Much of chapter 31 is taken up by Johnny's voiceover narration re: all the normal stuff people have to do on a cross-country horse race when they're not fighting ridonkulous supernatural battles. It turns out that teaming with the skeevy Italian pretty much guarantees you better coffee than anyone else on the continent, from SF to NYC. Man, let's nobody tell Dio.

...Okay, seriously? HOW COOL WOULD IT BE IF "JESUS WALKS" WERE THE NAME OF THE FINAL STAND.

I'm just irked at what the current Tsubasa storyline is doing to my xxxholic. I mean, dude. I miss reading stories with a plot of their own okay. (Which chapters of TRC would I need to read to get the Watanuki info? For reference.)

(Although, okay, I'm curious about the Tomoyo-hime convo.)

I'm not... sure. XD; It's sort of split up. I think it might have been 167-168, something like that. But there are Watanuki bits scattered all through. I do also sort of resent the fact that at times Holic becomes an adjunct to the TRC storyline, but then from a macro viewpoint everything CLAMP is an adjunct to the TRC storyline.

(I wonder why I don't have a Yuuko icon.)

The Tomoyo-hime convo is along the lines of 本当の強さの意味を分かったようですね. XD

My bet is on either Clow or someone totally random, like his daughter whom we've never met. But that can't be all! There will certainly be some exciting twist that we would never have suspected! Says the optimist in me.

Actually my original theory was that Fei Wong's wish was to be pretty like everyone else in Tsubasa.

I just wish someone in CLAMP would be evil and powerful for the sake of being evil and powerful, yanno? XD And on a grand scale, not aesthetic solipsists like Seishirou. But yeah, I expect a twist too.

I... seem to recall a couple people from RG Veda who were just evil and powerful? But that's it. I guess CLAMP just have the bad habit of sympathizing too much with all their characters.

I have long since given up on guessing what's going on, and am now just sort of merrily drifting along, occasionally cackling at some poor character who's getting all Clamp's love and attention this week (Like Midou Ban, they express thier love through violence. Only worse.) and not dealing with it well at all. ... The last semicoherent theory I came up with resulted in Syaoran and Sakura being siblings as a side effect, and being a Clamp manga this did not immediately disqualify it, but I'm sure they'll do something even weirder.

Yeah, I wish they would be less explicit in their love for certain characters, to be honest. XD;; There's only so much "affection" one can take.

I care about TRC spoilers! Even if I've given up reading months ago. I think I'm waiting for the series to end and see what people say, "oh, it made sense in the end," or, "MAN WHAT A WASTE OF 20+ VOLUMES." :|

I can tell you right now that it's not going to make sense in the end, or rather it won't make sense in a way that won't make you feel vaguely cheated. XD CLAMP will tie all the ends up and answer the pressing questions but the knot is convoluted and not very elegant at all. OTOH I don't feel it's a waste of time by any means, kind of a big ol' fanfictional crossover epic with saabisu really. XD

COMPARED WITH WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING IN XXXHOLIC TSUBASA IS A PIECE OF CAKE. ^^; Though I noticed the other day thAT in the Holic anime, the faces of all the random people on the street are greyed out, so maybe that whole "your life is actually dream thing" wasn't, like, totally random.
