(Where did this come from originally? I keep seeing it. XD)

Lindstrøm - I Feel Space (Freeform Reform Parts 1 & 2) (18.5MB)
Lindstrøm - I Feel Space (Tomba Spezial Space Tiefschwarzturntablerockeredit) (16.9MB)

I've posted the second track before, but now I have the whole single! The Freeform Reform is fairly spectacular - eleven minutes of non-stop space-laser-gold-confetti electrohouse disco extravaganza.[1] I count three parts, in fact, not two: movement I, movement II, reprise. XD

It's completely unlike the "Beau Mot Plage" remix (the thing the Wighnomy Bros played that I thought sounded like St. Germain), which is also ace - will up it some other time. Really Freeform Five belong on my mental list of These Guys Get A Free Pass As They Can Do No Wrong, not sure why they're not there already - not prolific enough to register, maybe? I passed on buying the album in Milan (didn't want the CD knocking around at the bottom of my backpack for two weeks) and have been sort of regretting it since.

Speaking of Lindstrøm, now playing this: Lindstrøm live (laptop) set @ Caviar, Gothenburg August 2006

Link steals bandwidth from Feedelity but that seems to be what it's there for? Let me know if it doesn't work. The set's about 93 minutes long and 106MB wide. ^^; I don't usually bother to share DJ sets because I scare people enough with the 15-20MB mp3s, I think, but this is too good not to link. It contains All The Hits(tm) and you could probably get away with putting it on at parties instead of Pink Martini.

I wish they'd bring Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas over for the Jazz Festival, one of these years; don't know if the organizers have a suggestion box. XD I mean they're one degree of separation from Bugge Wesseltoft and Nils Petter Molvær really, and Jazz Fest had Amon Tobin, Four Tet, even MSTRKRFT. I could see the above set as a Jazz Fest midnight showcase more easily than as a Diskho party, or MUTEK (though as with Fantasia, everything theoretically goes at MUTEK).

[1] Sound quality of the mp3 is also really good, which counts.

I steal your music!

(it's kind of sad, nothing I listen to at work is actually mine. but it has the bandwidth!)

Do you need more recs for work music, then? I'm constantly listening to BIS (http://www.beatsinspace.net/) or techno.fm. XD

Sweet! That's good workin' music. ^_^

I did the pandora thing for a bit, but it tends to spiral in on itself after a while. (there is a decent though somewhat irregularly stocked music server here--it is a very lazily kept secret--so i'm not entirely hurting for things to listen to.)

There are also the resident advisor (http://www.residentadvisor.net/podcast.aspx) podcasts, which can be really good. (though irritatingly they generally don't have setlists)

Ah, nice. ^_^

(a confession: i'm hopeless vs. setlists. not knowing when things begin and end, plus...i dunno, fundamentally weak counting skills?)

re preferring the lindstrom remix, the first time I saw it was on t'ILM (i think i remember leaving it in your comments a while later?). AFAICR It's an orig New Yorker cartoon, recaptioned by one of the ilm minimal cosmic beardo bobbins gang (like... lfam or fandango or trees or someone?). Went to look on the 'l&pt are the sh1t' thread fior it but it didn't seem to be there: what I did remember was stir's optimo re-edit of I feel space, did you ever get that? it has gay disco vocals!

I remember your leaving it in my comments (I saved it but can't find where ^^; - came across the above somewhere else). Makes sense that it came off ILM ahaha.

No I don't have the Optimo re-edit, would love to hear it! ...I don't have the original "I Feel Space" as a standalone, in fact, but that is of lesser import as I'm going to acquire It's A Feedelity Affair one of these days. XD

Have you checked basic sounds in the past couple of days? If not, I... strongly suggest that you do. :D
