G called from Kodak for sole purpose of saying he just put in an order for test film stock for American live-action remake of Evangelion starring Tobey McGuire.

In other news, I read the first volume of Ravages of Time last night (Charmian's been bugging me to read this for a year and a half). My reaction may grosso modo be summed up as "Wait, what? XD"

Talked to various people in the industry; in of itself, 'test film' means nothing, basically just a fairly generic maybe-possibly-audition. And ADV's been saying that they will be attaching *real names* to the project any time now...

...then again, mostly, just *the comments* on this post do a great job of illustrating the difference between stereotypical otaku (...who are like that, yo, with the daily goings-on in the industry)...*and everybody else in fandom who are anime/manga fans...*

(...is like, the live-action Eva has not been "news" for about three years now. But then again, we also are the people who stil care about the vagarities of how accurate the subtitles are, and how much we are being charged compared to the R2s...)
