Hoshino Lily's May and Ono Natsume's December. -_- I never buy anything else anymore. It's kind of disturbing. At least I fixated on mangaka who're prolific (or is that a bad thing).

Although seriously a second tankoubon of the basso yomikiri from Opera has to come out RIGHT NOW or I'm going to end up dropping 3,000 yen on back issues and NO. Not even to find out what's going on with the Tada Yumi story.

...Maybe I should buy them so I can scan in the stories. (AS IF)

Same publisher as the mag that runs Aoi Hana (death by cute). Unbelievably Hoshino Lily is doing something for them that I assume isn't BL. And... and the mangaka drawing that gothloli project of Ikuhara Kunihiko's I was complaining about. Nice to know I'm part of an identified target audience although I have no idea what the parameters are ("women in their 20s to 30s who like Yoshinaga Fumi", maybe? Ironically I've never gotten around to reading Yoshinaga Fumi).

SBR 11 is out now, GB 38 is out end-of-month, Ikuhara's thing is out never. I should probably get Vassalord just so I can dotdotdot at it.

P.S. Amazon in its infinite wisdom has gotten rid of the economy shipping option entirely, so now you're locked into express shipping and paying for it. Freebie time is over, folks!

GODDAMMIT

how much is the express shipping, on average?

Through the nose. Like 3900 for four items. That being said every item you add to the base cost is "only" 700 or so, so buy in bulk.

...you've never read antique bakery?

it calls to you! (http://www.onioncornstalk.com/chinese/yoshinaga%20fumi)

(volumes 1 and 2 are in english; the rest are in chinese.)

annnd thank you; it's just beginning to hit me that once i get to the states, there will be no more cheap manga rental shops. is survival in such a state possible? can one resign oneself to it in any way? SUCH A LIFE-ALTERING STEP.

dude, there are manga rental shops. i know of at least three in toronto. they help me none, as manga is of course in japanese, chinese and, on occasion, korean, but there're rental places. you probably need to go and look and--depending on where you gonna live, i 'spose--it's not likely to be around the corner. i can't answer for the selection, though the two places i went to didn't have sayuiki gaiden.

I have it downloaded somewhere, I think! XD I am just really backlogged on manga. Frankly I don't have much excuse to be ordering on Amazon at all.

There are no cheap rental shops, but you can read for free in the large chain bookstores (Borders etc) as long as you do it in-store. When I am feeling super-cheap I even bring my own tea bags, and ask the lady behind the counter at the cafe for a (free) cup of hot water.

Five seconds later I forget I'm trying to save money, and leave the store with thirty dollars of books to get a five dollar bagel. ^^;

ahem. here's a trick you can use. choose "free shipping" option, then change order to 'premium' and 'ship items separately'. then change back to free shipping. do it once or twice but do it quickly enough for the order not to go to 'shipping soon' ('cause then you're screwed, you can't change back). something glitches in the amazon system, if you do that, and the order will ship separately and as soon as each item arrives.[/skivvy tactics]

Is not the way it works on Amazon Japan though! They only have free shipping nationwide, if you're international you're out of luck, there's no choice involved. :/

Amazon did what? NOOOOOOOOO! Dammit, I knew something was up when the stuff I bought last time arrived extremely fast... I was all, "Wow, how nice of them to randomly upgrade me to express shipping for no extra charge!" -_-;

Hoshino Lily doing something that's not BL is a bit surprising. But I'm sure she atleast won't have abandoned her usual pedobait characters.

I hope not. Lily Hoshino without pedobait characters is like chocolate chip cookies without chocolate chips.

Eh... Have you thought about other online vendors like bk1? I've heard their selection is less, but since some of the stuff you are interested in seems popular, it may be worth a try.
