Bumped into a dude who looks exactly like Sebastian Stan in the elevator to a doctor's appointment (yes, Subdee, it was a medical clinic in a high-rise building). Sorry for not holding the door for you even though you were on crutches, dude. I would like to claim paranoia but in all honesty I was surprised.

You expect a little bit of this with every story, it's how the world seems to work, but this one is particularly... something.

XD. You're writing with a hyper-awareness of the modern world, because your characters are time travelers from the 50s-60s, that's all.

I didn't even talk about all the normal-ish to-be-expected stuff, like trying to edit this in the metro and looking up to see some dude's Captain America sneakers. I wasn't aware there was such a thing as Captain America sneakers, though I guess it's not surprising (they were Nikes).

Like, to be fair I have a Captain America shirt myself, not so much because MY FAVORITE SUPERHERO or anything but because the shield/star design is graphically quite attractive, when you get down to it. It's definitely the one that I see dudes wearing around town in a "I like how this looks" way rather than "I am a big comics nerd" way.

Also, I guess if you look at the usual suspects like American Apparel, "semi-ironic semi-affectionate use of the stars and stripes" seems to be a hipster thing these days.

The Stars and Stripes thing is weird, because I'm pretty sure it's a trend that's come to the US by way of the UK, haha. Like this was a really big thing over there last year and the year before last year.
