In reverse chronological order
Feb. 28th, 2007 09:26 pmThanks for the birthday wishes, everyone! :D
Yesterday: had yoga class for the first time in two weeks, ow. I made myself get up and go for a walk this afternoon just so I wouldn't stiffen up in the form of my computer chair.
Last weekend (birthday): I forgot to mention T and Lo got me this astonishing blue/green flowered coat for Spring. I feel as if I should get a matching beehive hairdo. XD Erin got me the first four issues of an indie comic called "Phonogram", which I read last night and will review at length sometime when I am not so incredulous. Basically it's a somewhat Sandman-esque setup in which Britpop is a goddess. There are Golden Bough allegories involving Damon Albarn, and a ghost girl who hangs around because she doesn't know where Richey Manics went. The script comes across as much less ironic than (I suspect) the writer intended.
Last Thursday: I took a sick day, so after the exam I went downtown and ran all the errands I'd been putting off for months - shopping and picking up tickets mostly. Am set for the Scissor Sisters concert and the Nuit Blanche event, but alleged Booka Shade night is proving elusive. Ticket counter girl at the Musée Juste Pour Rire claimed she has no knowledge of events held in rented rooms; then I walked all the way up St.L to Moog Audio and they'd never heard of it either. So either funds ran out or... they are really serious about keeping out teh alkies. XD; Still listed on the Get Physical artist site, though, so I will show up at the door or something and hope for the best ahaha.
Also bought a few volumes of manga (still missing: Nana 12 and 14, Bleach 17) and a new outfit at American Apparel, but it's still too cold out to wear it.
Weekend before that (Chinese New Year): had to work a production release on Saturday, so met Ced afterward for milk tea and shopping in Chinatown. Bought, made and ate food, though not nearly as much as most Chinese families do. XD; The chocolate mousse trifle thing turned out better this time, though I had to chalk up a failed batch of egg whites to experience... I have a tendency to obsess over one recipe until I get it right, I think. Although I have had a great idea for getting rid of the leftover whipping cream and the matcha powder in the freezer, namely GREEN TEA PARFAITS. Will see how it goes over. \o/
TO ACCOMPLISH IN NEAR FUTURE
* acquire a salad and a fancy espresso concoction
* write JoJo fic (I have been editing Senza Fine all day)
* write
drabble_trade request (better sooner than later)
* translate bits of FFXII Ultimanias
A COMPLETELY RANDOM OBSERVATION UNRELATED TO THE ABOVE
Does Dirge of Cerberus remind anyone else of Weiss Kreuz Glühen? I guess if this were a poll the choices would be "Y", "N", and "The fact that you are equipped to draw this comparison is proof positive you are wasting your life".
