Name five totally self-indulgent story ideas. (The fanfic you would write if you didn't care if you had an audience and also had no shame.)
I attempt all my self-indulgent story ideas sooner or later, so really the key point with me is audience (also, effort). >_> And I have way more than five. Ideas are cheap, guys, writing is hard.
1) The Dorian-and-Clayman not!romance backstory. History of Western Art, also Female Self-Realisation. orz The reason I stopped writing it was because it turned into a "Death of the Duke" sort of deal, which I found unnerving - Eroica fic should be less than ponderously angsty, although I have unvoiced opinions on the series that are likely... minority views? XD; Then I read the actual Swordspoint sequel and realized it was dumb to worry about stuff like this, geez.
Maybe this summer I'll set aside ten days to pound it out, a la "Honour" or "Proof by Contradiction".

fabulous_papaya discussed in her FFXII fic... in the style of the Khaavren Romances. (This is more like "I cannot in fact swing this but it would be fine to die trying.")
3) Similarly, some sort of post-Tactics era take off François Villon's "Ballade des dames de temps jadis", with all historical and mythological periods smushed together in that medieval way so you have Penelo and Agrias in the same verse (see: cannot in fact swing this, etc.).
Yesterday I readcoloredink's Four-and-Twenty Blackbirds, which is an excellent fic, but mostly I was so relieved I wasn't the only person who got these urges to make up fake! Ivalice literary canon. XD;
4) Nii x Kougaiji with the brainwashing. Don't... don't ask.
5) Yes, the one in which Gin and Rangiku lose their virginities to each other as pre-teens. Mind you I haven't even touched the part of the continuity with Aizen, which is at least its equivalent in A++ AMUSEMENT LOL actually no it's disturbing.
6) Tamaki-Kyouya-Haruhi three-way love triangle, played totally straight over twenty chapters for great hilarity. Needs more hot sex, also amnesia.
7) My Big Fat JoJo Wedding. ...Except I guess this doesn't count since it has a built-in audience should anyone choose to write it. XD
8) An FFIX fic, no joke, that I have always wanted to write: Lady Hilda's story of how she got mad at her husband, got even, travelled around the world in an airship and eventually ended up as Kuja's "guest" and learnt of his nefarious plots - as told through diary entries in 19th-century prose with lots of underlining. I just have this awesome mental image of Kuja having a sit-down dinner with a spunky middle-aged Victorian lady traveller, at opposite ends of a really long table full of candelabras and wax fruit. WHAT WOULD THEY TALK ABOUT.
9) A story in which Hikaru and Akira have first-time sex, and it is described, and not wrong. Purely for the challenge.
10) The Atobe x Ryouma getting drunk off champagne and cookies fic. Actually, I've talked about this so often I don't know why I haven't written it.
11) Pink Dark Boy BL doujinshi. ...What.
12) The one in which Takumi and Keisuke realize they are being played and team up to get even with Ryousuke... in bed. Except now that I think of it, this isn't my idea, this is just the plot of a Chinese fic I read ages ago. It's a good plot, though! I would apply this plot to other series!
13) SSBB story involving techno DJs, the end.
...It wouldn't be modelled on any one person (two people) in particular but a lot of RL chopped and mixed up in a totally libellious way? Velvet Goldmine style. Note to self, refrain from narrating all from POV of Magda equivalent.
14) Come to think of it, I've always wanted to write a Velvet Goldmine fic in which the Christian Bale character turned out to be Neil Tennant. You know, like the actual lyrics of "Being Boring".
15) GitS:SAC2, Motoko and the (lady) president of Japan. Hawt stuff amirite.
...Tired of adding to this list but there's always more. I don't think I've even listed the disturbing ones. XD;;;
In other news, this was buried way at the bottom of the music post I made last night, so I just wanted to point it out:
Djuma Soundsystem - Les Djinns (Trentemøller Mix)
It has DUELING SPANISH GUITARS. This is a spoiler and I never said anything. If you don't want to get up and dance to this I wash my hands of you.
