Sororial unit beat FFXII tonight with characters in the level 42-45 range (39-45, actually, but she never had to switch out her main party), on her first attempt, using Quickenings once at the very end. After, uh, having licensed Haste somewhere inside Bahamut. It was supposed to be a practice run to gauge the level of difficulty. XD;

FMA (now up to episode 38): the comments seem equally divided between "you ain't seen nothin' yet" and "stop watching now". XD I was pretty flummoxed is all, and not certain of understanding - the cast is numerous and the focus of action not always clear, let alone allegiances. There's a lot of running in circles (and yet somehow Ed and Al's inquiry advances?). Too the relentless emotional hammering is sometimes effective and sometimes chain-jerk. I do like Izumi a lot though. T and I intend to keep watching to the end, after which I'll probably read the manga, but really it's for the compulsive quality of the thing.

GetBackers: read the chapter summaries on getbackers, which helpfully begin where the last tankoubon left off. *CRIES*!! But I guess if you were going to pick a divine authority to remold the world into an artifact of choiceless perfection, it may as well be Ginji. 500% MORE SUNSHINE AND PUPPIES AMIRITE I mean you cannot even rebel against him properly for destroying the free will of humanity. He is too cute! LOOK GOD IS MAKING SADFACES AT YOU, HOW CAN YOU RESIST HIS ADORABLE :(-ING

Someone you might consider friending is fmanalyst. She's an English professor and anime fan who has written summaries of most episodes of FMA. I don't know how many she has up on her LJ, but she has some. Right now, she's summarizing Bleach, so she's slacking a bit on her FMA summaries.
