Fullmetal Alchemist to ep.4. This is not at all in the same order as the manga. Also, depressing. T said the affecting little song that plays when their house burns down is for some reason in Russian and has lyrics about um how sad it is their mother died and all their efforts gone for naught.

Big mystery of series to date: why is Roy sexy? I mean, anime characters are allowed to be as sexy as their creators are able and willing to draw them but Roy is sexier than the sum of his parts. He violates the principle of equivalent exchange. His hotness is the Philosopher's Stone.

Spiral to ep.5. After every episode T and I looked at each other and were like, "Is this series good... or... not?" And were never able to decide, so kept watching.

Big mysteries of series to date: are Ayumu's brother and Ritsuka-outta-Loveless's brother actually the same person? Does this series = (Loveless - cat ears + Weiss Kreuz - bad clothes and stupidity + "logical deduction") * Sukisho's animation style, or is there more to come? Is Mikhail going to ask for his ficlet onna card request to be changed now that I've seen this?

...I can't decide which LJ to post to so I'll go with the more embarrassing one. Didn't watch Kyou Kara Maou tonight but remind me to write about how observing Conrad effing Weller in action finally gave me an understanding of that conversation with fable about Mary Renault, eons ago.

The anime exists to be one horribly wrenching emotional suckerpunch after another. Even the episodes taken from parody omake have to sneak in little suckerpunches at the end.

Spiral isn't *good* per se...but kinda like Weiss, there are SO. MANY. single moments. Plus, by around fifteen episodes in, the characters really do play off of each other absolutely beatifully; like, for the first time in ever, we have a series where nobody is *dumb*...and when they do stupid things, it's actually entirely predictable stupid things, given their individual personalities.

...but no, the really isn't anything more to come. Except always, Kousuke goodness. I'll be waiting to hear what you have to say about the boy's personality. As I've mentioned, he *is* basically the person I want to grow up to become.

I blame Roy's sexiness on Ohkawa Tohru (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2960). That man can make a parrot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iago_%28Aladdin%29) sound as sexy as The Shachou (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rufus_Shinra). But it helps that Roy is a pretty fantastic character and foil to Hughes, Riza, and the resident bean Edward.

T and I have been "watching" KKM ever since it first came out, by which I mean we could never get past episode 10. We would run out of time, or fall asleep, or something.

Finally we skipped episode 10 and kept watching. XD

I can't vouch for the Spiral anime, but the manga was a very pleasant surprise. The scenarios started to buckle your disbelief threshold somewhere after Kanon shows up, though.
