Something dumb I came up with over the weekend.
The GioGio vs Ladios Sopp comparison chart:
On Monday there was Rogers Cup tennis:

The star of the day was Maria Kirilenko's butt-flounce. :x (Terrible photo but basically it's a pea-green skirt in heavy material with belt and double layer of pleating - not very sportswear-y at all - so the top was always flying up. She played well, though, or well enough. O tennis fashion: was distracted by the fact that the younger women would put spare balls up their skirts, as opposed to the men who had proper pockets. Until I figured out how it worked, anyway. The older women were ladylike and did not carry spare balls. XD)

Perfect weather for sitting in outside bleachers for six hours, as far as that goes: 25 Celsius, partly sunny, light breeze.
Friday I was ninety minutes' bus ride up north in L'Esterel for quote company fun day unquote. Actually this time around it was pretty fun, even though the rubber dinghy race destroyed my arms for the next 48 hours. Do not put a person who has zero upper body strength into a boat and tell them to row very fast for half an hour.
Also I react badly to "friendly competition" that involves pushing, shoving, splashing, being shot at with stinging pellet-like objects, etc. What with the general ruckus I hope the CEO forgets about me swinging an oar at his head. =_=

We had a potluck brunch before this and there was a mountain of leftover pastries so I and the Russian engineers etc. divided the spoils. Then I lugged it all over to Maclane's to meet Lorraine and Tania becauseshe said she'd drive me home they wanted to borrow some anime. Lo, I offer a blanket apology for lack of enthusiasm and generally not being fun, I was nigh-catatonic at that point. ^^;
Other than that I've been writing. I do like the current setup because it means one whole fic gets posted at a time to the general public as opposed to dribblets of ill-revised drafts, but the downside is that if I'm very preoccupied with a WIP I don't blog at all.

Date: 2006-08-15 10:12 pm (UTC)Bloody good thing all the *company fun days* are reserved for the London office; the most they've been able to come up with for us is a company bowling game (. .. ... x_X;;;) - cue two guys who absolutely f-ing adore bowling...and all the Brits desperate for someone to sit down and walk them through the rules.
...also, Ladios Sopp = *hugest dork ever*. Which is to say, <333.
...mmm, valium...
