JoJo part 5 novel

Is unexpectedly a "missing episode" set in Venice, AFAICT between Squalo/Tizziano and Notorious B.I.G., and deals with what-happens-to-Fugo. Well, I guess it would be sort of lopsided and depressing to set it after the end, though there must've been controversy within the organization to say the least. ^^;

I have the distinct impression the target audience of this book is 15-year-old girls.

Much better written than expected Describes the characters' appearance and outfits at great length... in order to mock them Includes "canonical" colours, some of which I'd not have guessed (did anyone think Trish's hair was dyed green?) Writer is a big fat goth who named stands after The Cure and Joy Division Gun stand vs. gun stand in Piazza San Marco at 150 paces You will be glad to learn that Fugo smells like mint. Not mint as in he gargles with Scope, mint as in "What is this pleasant minty-fresh scent suddenly wafting through my apartm--HOLY SHIT AN INTRUDER."

The protagonist is an emo 18-year-old girl whose stand is a cute bunny. FOR REALS NOW. Villains' dastardly plot seems rather inefficient (not that this is new for JoJo) Far more detailed description of Purple Haze's effect on human bodies than necessary On that note, FUGO YOU STUPIDHEAD >____<

Also, the person who wrote this is totally gay for Fugo and Mista. I don't care if it was churned out on contract with Jump who specified that it had to be about Fugo, you can't fake that sort of thing. XD; (Actually IIRC they get rabid fanboys to write the novels, which sometimes backfires - there's no part 4 novel purportedly because the guy ripped up a ridiculous number of drafts and never could get it perfect.)

Did I mention the endpapers are bright pink?

Ran straight back to the organization is what happened to Fugo. I haven't finished reading it but I can't figure out why they keep sending him out to kill these people, the only purpose it seems to serve is to force the girl to up the power of her stand but that's just... stupid... >_>

will it frustrate me because he runs back to the organization? XD; or because of the reading? or does he just act really stupid? XD I won't accept it as canon if it's too stupid! I could buy that he'd go back, though... I mean, 1) loyal and 2) doesn't want to DIE, that's why he didn't go with Bruno in the first place, so it makes sense (though given the choice to make it up, I would have probably had him just quit altogether... though is that possible? XD)

I won't accept those as "canon" colors, either, since, I mean, Araki didn't write it, right? So it's about as canon as video game, and less so than any of the book covers (not that there's any cohesive color scheme to be found THERE, as usual).

It'll frustrate you because he kills half of Venice's population. D: Without Bruno there the boy has no grasp on seigi at all.

Other than that it's a fun read, though, especially the last bits with Rigatoni (RANDOM GAY) and uh ATTACK OF THE 50-FT KILLER BUNNY. Basically it does that JoJo simultaneously-scary-and-utterly-ridiculous thing pretty well.

...I have no idea why he smells like mint, he just does. XD The way Fugo is described in this book you're lucky he didn't turn out to have amethyst orbs for eyes. I don't really believe it's written by a guy.
