A music post at an unusual time
Apr. 16th, 2005 12:45 amOh, so that's what I forgot to do. :P
Continuing with this week's Massive Attack theme: Massive Attack and Mos Def - I Against I. Best listened to while striding down the street at night wearing a black leather trenchcoat.
The Dandy Warhols - Godless (Massive Attack Edit): I'm rather fond of the Dandy Warhols, as a band they have a funky dance agenda and I like that huskiness the vocalist affects. XD As far as I can tell, all Massive Attack did was fuzz up their sound. This is from the Scooter Girl OST - rather than FST -
dipping_sauce compiled for me for my birthday. ^_^ Basically she tracked down as many of Chynna Clugston-Major's margin notations as she could and put them in order. Here's another one:
Shocking Blue - Send Me A Postcard
In the comic the DJ played this track at the beginning of the evening to get the party started in a hurry - with results that for plot-related reasons were disastrous. XD Given that the crowd was comprised of 60's mod revivalists, though, it's likely not what you expect. I don't even really know what to call it (though I have a couple more tracks by this group): R&B, I think, back when it was rock music. The organ bit is massive.
BTW, the following are tracks Erin was unable to find, so I am making an appeal to the flist: does anyone have any of these? XD I don't even recognize half these bands.
Brian Auger and the Trinity, "Tiger"
Dexy's Midnight Runners, "Tell Me When My Light Turns Green"
Rialto, "Hard Candy"
Ash, "Get Ready"
The Interpreters, "Make Up Your Mind"
20/20, "A Girl Like You"

Thanks, took all the tracks. You are now on my Daily MP3 Raid itinerary.
