Sugar shack Sunday
Mar. 13th, 2005 11:56 pmLunched with Ced, Erin & friends at le Cabaret du Roy, a theme restaurant in the Marché Bonsecours building. They have a cabane à sucre thing happening on Sundays during the season (March-April), fabulous all-you-can-eat fare for $17 a head. Go with a group, though, because 'tis a pity to waste the food: all-you-can-eat is not really that much when every dish contains lard, maple syrup or both. XD I only got out of bed at noon, so today was a one-meal day. But damn, just those cranberry nut scones were to die for.
Watched Hidalgo this evening, then proceeded to waste two hours reading my dad's old Arabian Horse World breeder phonebooks from 1982. The "horsey" stage differs from shoujo to shoujo, I guess, I drew a lot of pictures of horses and spaced out over Arabian Horse World. I still think they're some of the most beautiful creatures to walk the earth, and was vaguely horrified that William Gibson made them go extinct in Neuromancer-verse.
