I mean, I love it, it's just painful because I haven't been able to write for GB properly since halfway through the Eternal Bond arc. Not when startling revelations rearrange the series into an entirely novel paradigm every week. (Death Note was like that from the very first, which is why I never even think of trying to fic for it. Incidentally the first person to spoiler me accidentally for page 58 will RECEIVE DEATH AS RECOMPENSE.)

I think Ban and Himiko are actually second cousins or so, but the brother-sister relationship has been fairly de facto throughout the whole series. As I read it, at least. ;)

I'm at a loss as to who Ginji's mother could be. (I know who she is in my Opening The Way, but that's something different entirely, heh heh.)I honestly don't think he's going to be related to Ban, but I'm at a loss as to who else he could be related to from the series regulars.

Oh yes emotionally de facto, but he looks up her skirt and whatnot, so the revelation is a bit creepy in a Luke and Leia sort of way. ^^; (In general it's been getting all "Padmé I am your baby's daddy" to quote the gag trailer I watched last night. BUT IN A GOOD WAY. I like your fic with Paul and Ban's dad that I read five minutes ago. XD)

I am positively festering with unanswered questions.

Animeverse, that's all I have to say. Well, except for the Amon stuff, but that's all wild AU anyway, and our current major project in that vein is the RP for the sequel to the Amon-shows-up-during-IL story which we have played out and now need to convert into decent prose. (I swear, the plot for this thing practically writes itself. Every time I'm confused as to what happens next I consult the canon, and some new, usually Kiryuudo-related, insight will reveal itself and I will stare for a moment before gleefully expounding to mullenkamp on how everything falls into place.)

But the other stuff we're doing is Masaki/Teshimine and it's all animeverse, and I have many thoughts about Ren but my Ren demands Toshiki and that's all animeverse, so I'm pretty safe. ;)

Of all the characters on which to demonstrate that every so often somebody actually does bite it... ;_; And poor Emishi!

Add to that the fact that they're on more crack than CLAMP (and are publishing in the same magazine!) and it's clear the series has wandered into that bizarre late-run shounen manga surrealism that makes it nearly impossible to figure out what's going on, let alone what comes next.

At this point I'm just along for the ride, with my seatbelt buckled and right hand firmly gripping the "oh shit!" handle over the top of the passenger-side door. (And I think my emotional understanding is lagging the intellectual. A few hours after making my post I hit the "...Juubei! Toshiki! SAKURA OH NOES" stage. Now I'm in a place of feeling horribly gutwrenchingly sorry for Paul. ^^;)

Oh come on, you know you're looking forward to seeing Kazuki being beaten up and molested and so forth by his harem . . .

. . . not that I'd write dubious scenes involving that or anything . . .

. . . at least, not till I have some visuals for it.

(Especially if Kazuki goes running off on his own to try to fix things due to current mistrust of Ban as der Kaiser's son. He ought to know by now that running off by yourself to try to solve problems single-handed is never a good idea in a shounen manga. "Lightning Kick of Love!")
