I had to give myself a theme to write these, so apologies for dorkiness. :0

1. This 1960s psychedelic rocker was replaced by David Gilmour after erratic behaviour and drug use led to his departure from the band he founded.

2. What is the etymology of the name "Guns n' Roses"?

3. This 90s Britrock band carried on as a three-piece after the unsolved disappearance of guitarist Richey James.

4. In September 1986, bassist Cliff Burton was killed when his band's tour bus crashed between Stockholm and Copenhagen. What is the name of the band?

5. Popular Japanese band L'Arc~en~ciel saw the departure of its drummer Sakura in 1997, just before the release of their single "Fourth Avenue Café". What was the cause?

***

1: Syd Barrett
2: The last names of founding members Tracii Guns and Axl Rose (full names required because I know how these guys think by now - "Mr. Rose and... uh... Mr. Guns!").
3: Manic Street Preachers
4: Metallica
5: Sakura's arrest for cocaine possession.

Done! This calls for a beer (6.2%, I'll have you know, I scoff at the watery stuff. :D). Also, I've nearly finished compiling my 30 Kisses Mix, and weirdly enough I like it better than almost anything I've done recently.

I am amazed that I actually knew the answers to two of those questions. I'll listen to damn near anything, but I hardly ever care enough about trivia to remember it. ^^;;

Hey, I knew two of these too! ...Of course, I'm rather fond of Pink Floyd, and the Metallica one was mostly a guess because I thought I remembered that they had bad luck with bassists and one died in a crash.

I had 0 out of 5... >_> Our spheres of knowledge don't coincide much eh?

Anyways, here are the questions I wrote in surrogate:

1- This Scottish band formed around Stuart Murdoch known for its albums "The Boy With The Arab Strap" and "Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant" was named after the title of a children's book about a boy and its dog.

2- Once the lead singer of British Indie Band The Smiths, and known to the public by its family name, he now performs in solo, and even released an album in May 2004 called "You Are The Quarry".

(I mean, so far, my Qs are no challenge, but you go try the Life Sciences, or Applied Sciences ones ^^;)

3- In one Simpsons' classic where Bart tries to get back his dog after it was lost and retrieved by a blind man, the episode ends with the arrival of the Springfield Police Force and the discovery by the Lassie-like Police dog that the Blind Man was carrying marijuana. What Bob Marley song plays as it goes to the credits?

4- This Japanese duo made up of Yumi Yoshimura and Ami Onuki also hosted a weekly talk show in the United States and are featured in a cartoon showing at the Cartoon Network (Friday mornings at 8:30 ^^;).

5- This Chinese pop music diva born in Beijing and who started her career in Hong Kong also starred in Wong Kar-Wai's Chungking Express and sang Final Fantasy VIII theme song "Eyes on Me".
