TIME TO BLOG, WHAT IS THIS EVEN

1) For Yuletide, I received Another Man's Son, which is a what-if story about how Dio met Giorno (it is awesome and chilling and involves Arrrt). YES, LADIES AND GERMS, I HAVE CAUSED MORE JOJO FIC TO EXIST. I really did, because I nominated the fandom. And the writer had some small part in it, naturally. XDD You should all go read and comment, because it is v. good indeed.

2) Feel free to guess my Yuletide story! For, uh, credit? XD A prize yet to be determined? (This applies to anyone who was not at my IRL housewarming party and remarked on my whiteboard scribbles.) I will make the game super-duper-easy: I've talked about the fandom, the post's not fallen off my DW page yet, and the story itself is an Obvious Sabina Story(tm). It was completely written and edited in 36 hours - that also covered two decent nights of sleep, a four-hour work meeting, and several loads of laundry. Yeah, I have no idea.

3) PENGUINSPOILERS ARE NUCLEAR, I am three eps behind and downloading as we speak. Will comment after I'm done, no doubt, unless of course I just flail and repost fanart on Tumblr as I've been doing all along.

Ikuhara could piss me off at the finale (and it won't be beating Utena, anyhow), but I have to say I enjoyed the process of watching an anime week-by-week, actually looking forward to the next episode, and not getting bored halfway and stopping. I think the last time that happened was Monster, literally. Since then, if I've managed to watch an anime TV series entire, it's because I marathoned it (or large stretches of it).

4) A white Christmas! I had grown resigned to us having stolen London's December, so this is extra gratifying (despite having to drive in terrible conditions today).

5) Work/party schedule, or why I was not posting: performance review on the 14th, MAJOR project deadline followed by office party on the 15th, client presentation on the 16th (watched the Sherlock Holmes movie), my housewarming/Christmas barbecue on the 17th, breakfast with an MBA friend and potluck/gift exchange in Brossard with the radio crew on the 18th, presentation again on the 19th (followed by more frantic work because stuff that was supposed to be complete on the 15th wasn't really), final-final delivery on the 20th. Then aforementioned 36 hours of writing Yuletide. XD Then I took a sick day on the 23rd, managed the Herculean tasks of vacuuming the apartment and meeting a friend for coffee, and went to a late house party (the Skrillex one, for those of you on Tumblr). 24th, cooked Christmas dinner for sororial unit and T. + baby Heero, who are in town for the holiday weekend; 25th (today), coffee with T. followed by picking up sororial unit, dropping by D.'s to say hi, then G.'s family celebration (refreshingly drama- and even drunkenness-free).

6) I have Monday and Tuesday off. Tomorrow Erin's coming over for breakfast and the Doctor Who Christmas special, then I have a couple of errands to run, and then... I think I'm going to the movie theatre and watching several movies in a row. XD

7) Sometime earlier in December, met another Tumblr friend (on the music side who'd come in from Guelph for a concert) for dinner/drinks, and... earlier still... learnt how to open oysters? I bought two crates of PEI oysters from Jean-Talon Market for 24$, something like six dozen of them in total, and nearly made it two days before I stabbed myself in the palm. It healed as cleanly and quickly as something like that possibly could, but any puncture wound means a scar with me, so now I've got a matching one to the German shepherd's eyetooth scar on the front of the wrist of that hand. XD; Later I discovered by accident at the supermarket's fish counter that there was such a thing as a specific oyster-opening tool with a rounded tip, that is how much I didn't know about what I was doing. I schlepped oysters to house parties, solicited advice from various more competent oyster-handlers, and for the price of SHED BLOOD have at least acquired a new skill. What is life if not leveling up?

8) 2011 movies + music roundup. I promise. Just... later in the week. XD

client presentation on the 16th (watched the Sherlock Holmes movie)

For a second I read this as "watched the Sherlock Holmes movie in client presentation on the 16th" and was suitably impressed. XD; If only.

Looking forward to yr Penguinthoughts of course. Happy (belated) holidays, etc.

I forgot about "writing Christmas cards" on the 20th. XD Also, last minute shopping.

Finished watching Penguindrum last night! I left some prelim thoughts on Nat's post, it being the one I encountered first. I am trying to sort out exactly how I feel. XD I think I would have liked the ending much better if I had not been Madoka-ed in the summer, as it is I feel like I didn't need to be told twice.
