Never? --Hardly ever.
Oct. 13th, 2004 08:52 pmThinking about drabble. XD The concept is so weird that my brain is compelled to deal with it in complete seriousness, I'm afraid - meaning that the bit that's really sticking in my gears is something along the lines of, "Peace Maker Kurogane's continuity stops dead in 1868 or so, but... HMS Pinafore wasn't premiered until a decade later! Damn!"
The first idea would've been so charming, too. But okay, okay, I go home, I write. XD

In recent months I've variously felt the urge to soundtrack: Death Note, Eroica, Angel Sanctuary, Good Omens, Mirage of Blaze... It never goes anywhere, I get four or five tracks in and stop for lack of material (usually I have a clear idea of what genres/types of music relate to a series in my head, i.e. what the real soundtrack should sound like if the series were to be animated, but the intersection between that and songs with lyrics that also relate is small). But you know what would be a good idea? Soundtracking a series without telling people what it was, and seeing if anyone can guess.
You know what would be an even better idea?
Soundtracking a Falsificatio series, one that doesn't exist anywhere except in one's head. Then having people recount the plot they "hear" in the ST, and seeing if it bears any relation to the ST maker's concept. XD

Date: 2004-10-13 04:19 pm (UTC)Not sure if I'm really going to do Truth or Drabble or not... I mean, I could always just volunteer, but I want to get my flist in on it too, so.
(I've seen at least one other game in progress, btw, in a different part of my flist.)

Date: 2004-10-13 04:45 pm (UTC)The last two ideas are utterly gorgeous, and excruciatingly demanding, it seems to me.

Date: 2004-10-13 04:52 pm (UTC)...This is not a bad thing. Any mix that has both "Killer Queen" and "I Should Be So Lucky" on it cannot be a bad thing. Though I suspect Neil Gaiman would not actually concur.

Date: 2004-10-13 07:15 pm (UTC)In various posts all well up near the top.
And, well, of the fandoms you mentioned, Eroica is the one I genuinely share, so of course it's the one I want to see.
...damn, that reminds me I forgot to see if the first volume had made it into Ingram's database yet. I put through a zillion manga orders at work today, half probably for things I won't see until December. :P I can't wait for translations of Emperor Waltz -- I would happily stop the story right there, I adore it so, even if some of the things that came later have been fun too.

Date: 2004-10-14 05:22 am (UTC)I wish I could write comedy, because I've got Dorian/Klaus/Caesar plotbunny lurking at the back of my head. Unrequited crush + competition, not threesome, alas.
