So I'm watching Mirage of Blaze, because [livejournal.com profile] sai I mean [livejournal.com profile] fable (>_>) is watching it, which reminded me that I should finish the anime. And all I could think in episode 9 was, "Hey, I know where that is! That's Sudou Kyouichi's turf! Hey look, see, it's one way!" _O_ It wasn't even the name that did it, mind you, but the view of the highway. Thank you, Initial D, for leaving me the ability to recognise anonymous stretches of road in a country where I've never been!**

(And of course that poor woman was like "my brother was driving at night and hit the guardrail, and then HIS SOUL GOT EATEN", and I... I'm really lame, aren't I?)

** Well, okay, not so anonymous that the tourism board doesn't have a webpage for it, but still.

That's bad enough, sure. But it's worse when you realize that your sister has decided that Nikko is where she wants to spend a few days when she comes to visit you in Japan, and you start going "hmm...."

That's much, much worse. (I'd come to that realization about a month ago....)

I figure if I ever go to Japan for longer than, say, a week, I'd have to visit all these mountains. I'd pretend to be there for the shrines but really it's so I could take pictures of the highways. ._.

P.S. You know, I never really realised that was you on Shioul (am looking at messages dating back two years). ^^;

lol! now I actually want to see the anime just for that. :b

("I'm sorry, ma'am. Your brother was actually just a rice boy who didn't know how to drive.")

When soul-eating monsters are on the prowl, hitting the guardrail can give you worse than whiplash!

I did sort of expect Naoe to say, "You don't really believe he was just driving a friend home, do you," but by that point I knew I was hallucinating.

*dies*

YOU ARE WATCHING MIRAGE OF BLAZE TOO? SCORE. YET ANOTHER PERSON TO UNDERSTAND MY PAIN.

Mostly I was having an issue listening to the Japanese because they said yami sengoku so much, and I kept jumping at that word, sengoku, and I am like, THAT IS SO WRONG, etc etc.

Yes I am done now. <3

You don't understand. I'm actually supposed to build and maintain the Mirage of Blaze information guide site. It was supposed to have been up in January, I've just been too lazy to do it.

(I've watched six episodes of the anime - well, nine now - and read all four volumes of the manga. That runs me in a muddled sort of way up to book 2 of the novels, so now I'm reading book 3. I harbour a weird sort of resentment toward this series, though, which is why I've held off on it. It preys on my weaknesses. And by that I don't even mean the BL; I mean the "oh, here's a nice historical/urban fantasy series for you, but you'll understand and appreciate it so much better if you did TONS OF RESEARCH. Don't protest. I know your kind. YOU LIKE RESEARCH, DON'T YOU?")

Ahahaha. Well procrastination has never really killed anyone, so.

(oh god, I know. I went through most of the episodes going, "I know I'm going to have to check this up. I know I"m going to have to check this up. And I bet the books would be worse, because, you know, 40+ volume book vs. 13 episode series. Anyway. Yes.)

Wait 'til tonight. I'll have something up by then, I suspect. >_>

Hah, I am still boycotting Mirage of Blaze on the grounds that after all the times I've started a To Be Cont'd in the Novels series I've gone mad with frustration. -_-

You're probably in the right. -_- I mean, knowing you you'd be vastly more interested in the plot aspect anyway, and the anime outright skips a few books AFAICT.

So I'm watching Mirage of Blaze, because sai I mean fable (>_>)

I'm having a not so minor freak-out about this. Because, I liked the name sai, and had it for years and years, and now it's crossed out, the bridge has been burned, I can never use it again, and fable's the title of one of my favorite poems, right, but that's still only a faint comfort. It's not sai, it can never be sai, sai is gone forever.

*weeps*

Do you think I can blame this on Mirage of Blaze, too? All the ceaseless melodrama has infected my brain, making me incapable of saying anything without adding an "oh woe" at the end, OH WOE.

(Well, why can't you? You can just make another sai journal and keep it for RL posts or something, can't you? ._. It is sort of freaky, though. Feels more or less the same as if a RL friend went and applied for an official name change.)

Many things can be blamed on Mirage of Blaze. >_>

I tried that, actually. ^^;; But if you rename a journal, according to the lj faqs, the previous name is removed from the pool of available names, and can't be used by anyone again. So it really is permanent. ;_;

Well, I'll probably keep calling you Sai. ^^;; I can never get a handle on it when people I know change their handles, to coin a phrase. Often it leads me to make up a dorktastic mnemonic for them, like how I call [livejournal.com profile] starlighter O-Maguro-san.

*clings valiantly to her identity*

I just changed my lj, not my name. I'd be utterly weirded out if you didn't call me that.

Also, honestly? Every time I see [livejournal.com profile] fable, I *twitch*. I'm hoping that feeling goes away with time. ._.
