Glued to Election Canada's website, which is refreshing with preliminary results in real time. It's a nail-biter, but looking like... a Liberal-NDP coalition for a wafer-thin majority in the Commons! Duuuude. Michael Moore probably thinks he did that all hisself. XD;;;

(I have trouble - not so much remembering, but taking into account - that Canada doesn't have a two-party system, because for all intents and purposes Quebec does have a two-party system - if we're pissed with the Liberals we elect the Bloc/PQ, and vice-versa. But nationwide nearly as many people swung left as right. It's a civilised little bell curve. ^^;;)

Note that my parents stopped the paper this week, so I've had no news at all. A good thing, as the shenanigans were getting ridiculous (last I heard was the "Conservatives accuse Liberal MPs of supporting child porn" fiasco). Imagine what the rest of Quebec must think when Gilles Duceppe starts sounding like the voice of reason to me. =_=

Will try to make a separate entry on Death Note, assuming lj lets me post. ^^;

Not much of a nail-biter after all, if you've read the opinion polls last week you'd started fantasizing about what the hell the constitution had as tie-breaker material? ["Consitution: In case of tie in number of seats won, Canadian Football match will be used to determine the winner of this election! (On Parliament Hill!)"]

Well, the Liberals and the NDP together have what looks like to be a 50% of seats plus 1 majority. X_X Either that or dealing with the Bloc. It doesn't look to me like this government's lasting too long.

I don't know... seems to me that previous Liberal-NDP minority (1972) didn't last long 'cuz Trudeau had faith he could win back the majority. So if majority looms at the horizon, then we'll see an election soon. Otherwise, I'd well be happy wiff a Pearson sort of Liberal-NDP (I say it after being soaked in Canadiana Politicus for the past handful of weeks ^_^;;).

Check ElecCan now. They might not even be able to form a Liberal-NDP gov't. ^^;

Heheh, so I went to bed wondering whether the Liberals/NDP in the "leading" column could shift to the Conservatives. ^_^; The balance of power rests in the hands of the Independent dude (who incidently didn't get the Conservative nomination, 'cause was diagnosed with cancer?). Teehee. Now the recounts drama! :D :D
