I worked break-neck today to make a deadline, and then I went and stood in line for half an hour to vote. Now I'm home, I've just made myself a blue drink with gin in it, and I'm going to read the last fifteen or so chapters of Death Note. And ain't nobody going to stop me, suckers. XD

EDIT -- wtf tennis. Now that's just gratuitous head-messing.

Oh dear, although you stood up to the relentless sl0ring of FMA, you couldn't withstand DN. XD
(Do tell me what you think of the atypical WJ title, though)

Well, I bought the tankoubon, so I'm more or less formally buying into the series. Is for the art, so there was no question of withstanding in the first place. XD But the story is very good and very atypical.

Yes, the art really is terrific, isn't it?

(It's not so much that it is atypical (it sounds vaguely faustian, vaguely echoing other stories, sort of invisible man etc stuff, becoming a god, we've heard this before). What it is is that it is atypical for WJ; although my idea that the editors tell the writers what sort of themes are acceptable may be skewed. Afternoon and seinen mags would be more typical for this sort of story.)

Yes, atypical for WJ was what I meant. In all sorts of ways. Of course I don't read all or even the majority of popular WJ series, but I've been racking my brain and can't think of one Jump series where the main character was a college student, just to pick a minor detail. College-age, yes, but never an actual preppy valedictorian. Let alone a preppy valedictorian serial killer. ^^; It does read much more like a seinen series.

Gah, now I feel bad. Missed both the Duma elections and the presidential. And yeah, yeah, the US elections are (more or less) coming up, but it's just not the same!
