Trying to think of how best to put this. You know Morning Musume? Hopefully? Okay, now picture Morning Musume really really 80's. ...I've been trying for hours to think of an equivalent in Western pop history, but there really isn't, because America never did saccharine 80's girlbands with twenty-plus members. The closest I can come is Bananarama. Or the Go-Gos. So we're talking, like, "Cruel Summer", okay. Or Belinda Carlisle. Or...

Which would explain a whole lot of everything, if it weren't for the fact that they're obviously the Misfits. And at least it's not Tezuka and Seigaku, because Atobe doing Onyanko Club is a concept that (if the Jumpmeisters had a shred of decency) should only exist on the level of parody fic but Tezuka would have been PAIN. Even if - now gacking off idollica.com as I'm not that g33ky about eighties-tastic Asian pop - it turns out that Onyanko Club was once on Sukeban Deka, and every Japanese fanartist agrees in print that if Kaidou were a girl he'd be right out of Sukeban Deka. I have no idea what that signifies, unless it's:

TENIPURI + MARIMITE = ACE WO NERAE

Nevertheless I expect the single to be quite brill. Unless of course it turns out that Suwabe can't sing squeaky female idorupop, in which case it'll be shite. Place your bets.

Got email, am in process of dl'ing. Thankee muchly! I was actually sort of kidding but this will allow me to, um, put off the process of reinstalling mIRC for another week or two. ^^; (Damn those licensings of lengthy ongoing series...)

The images I've been struggling against are - respectively - Kabaji in one of those white ballerina outfits worn by the idoru group in Perfect Blue, and Gakuto as the bitchy green-haired illiterate chick in the Misfits. (I knew he reminded me of someone!) But Tezuka and henshin!magic earrings! XD XD XD I think we've identified the missing element of Buchou's existence.

Think I'm going to have to continue this in a fresh new post. XD;;;

Hehe.. couldn't resist but comment.. ^^ I SO agree with what you wrote, and I really start wondering why people don't come to seriously question the sanity of NEC-Interchannel producers.. XD Honestly, who had this idea?? (more important: what was he thinking?!)

i've been seeing tenipuri = ace wo nerae! since i started watching tenipuri...though i don't exactly trust my own clarity of vision. besides, i don't know a lot of other people who know ace wo nerae! ^^;

Well, I haven't seen a lot of Ace wo nerae really. ^^; But, well, tennis. (And that dj off Lililicious in which Eiji reads Ace wo nerae before bed and proceeds to have traumatic dream about the Seigaku tennis team as girls...)
