New computer arrived at Saturday-workplace, a sleek black Dell with silver-highlighted peripheries and a flat screen only slightly larger than the state of New Hampshire. So there was much cooing over the new baby, but first there was total dismantling of the current small-business office network concurrent with impromptu spring midwinter cleaning, as the desks and cables were buried under about two years' worth of mud and cat hair. -_____-;;; Yes, mud and cat hair on the desks as well as under, because it's just high roads and low roads to Kuronyanko-sama. Of course it's not my job as resident computer person to vacuum, Lysol and hose the place down to say the least, but when the FANS of said computers turn out to be choked with FURBALLS... *wheezes* And boss wonders why his mild allergy is acting up.

So that was eight hours. Tomorrow I go in for Part 2: Assembly, wherein machines will find themselves in vastly different corners of the room from the previous set-up and print jobs to the big corporate laser Konica will most pointedly no longer be routed through the dinky Win95 box that goes up and down like a yoyo. (It was... what, the guy before the guy before me who came up with that layout?) I'd wipe the HDs of several of these and reinstall clean, if that wouldn't give the non-computer persons in the office (to wit, everyone else) palpitations.

Still, any way you look at it it's worth it to be able to run Dreamweaver MX and a non-hobbled version of Photoshop. And, y'know, screen of which I'm unable to see the edges. XD

Yes, I'm working my second job the weekend after Christmas, all right. You think Miike DVDs pay for themselves? XD;; (Rather, you think Asian over-achiever Pavlovian reflexes die out after university? Ha. And I wasn't even much of an over-achiever in uni, unless you count in all those invisible classes in graphic design and creative writing and media studies. >_> It may be worth noting that the first thing I did when I got home besides eat dinner was proof-read an article written by one of my father's friends for journal publication, proposing an adjustment of two years to the accepted birth/death dates of a famous Chinese scholar of the Eastern Jin, according to calculations based on the 12-year popular horoscope. Why did I do this, you ask? A good question.)

Janni: in brief, album totally worth it. ^_^ Mind you I bought it used for 12$CAN, but I wouldn't have minded full price. Globally it tends more toward the jazztronica deconstructionist side than Gotan Project, say - beats and broken spoken-word samples and looped snippets of live instruments. But as Café del Mar style chillout electronica it holds up well (I do like the minigenre as a rule, myself, so). Piazzolla's melodic core is never so absent from these tracks that you couldn't hum along with them, and some of them are quite entrancing takes on the original composition.

GitS:SAC ep.26: ...Dude, she says with feeling. Poor hoodwinked Togusa. (Or poor me, which is to say the same thing, given the suspense between 25 and 26. XD;;;) I would've punched Batou, I swear, except that would've just broken my hand.

The trailer for Innocence was teh shiznit, in the parlance of our times.

YamiBoushi ep.3 (BitTrickles slowly, not my fault): character backstory getting more and more interesting. Looks to be even more interesting in the next episode. Also, lesbian bikini action! ...Y'know, for the three heterosexual fanbois out there who want intelligent meta with their perky fanservice. No wonder the thing's sparsely seeded. XD

And now, for more TeniPuri. Who's surprised?

The Piazzolla remixed album? (Huh, I got that as a gift this year. XD) So far, for me, only the Luna track is on the "repeat" playlists for me, but.
