In lieu of fic, mp3s
Jan. 13th, 2004 12:15 pmSo I'm not sure where I got this idea that Kamio Akira mostly favors euphoric house/trance with minimal lyrical importance - gremlin lore, basically, yet I'm convinced enough of it that it's spawned a whole thought-train of personal amusement that rather fails the st00pidity test for sharing with the world at large. (Kamio is an Avex h0 yet he hates them on principle for the copy protection. Kamio fits the classic illegal downloader profile. Kamio has a "Chillout Mix" in which the songs occasionally fall below 120bpm, shokku. Kamio has no idea what this Queer As Folk show is but he thinks the mp3s are kind of ace - okay, see, I'll shut up while I'm ahead.) So rather than write a drabble that, like, attempts to give metaphoric significance to Kamio's adventures on WinMX, I made a mix. Figured the flist at large would like it better this way, as you can download and listen even if you don't care about my crackpot TeniPuri fictheories.

Of course, if you do care about Kamio and his travails, you should probably think of the above as a form of fic. (Gen fic, not slash. Meaning no Pet Shop Boys, no Kylie, nothing off the QaF OSTs, and no "Rhythm Is A Dancer". I would never - she says with a straight face - actually make a boy some kind of laughingstock because he dances to disco and doesn't like rock.) It's in character, because if I were left to my own devices there would be, y'know, a lot more New Order and Felix da Housecat and random electro schtuff. The compromise is that all of them are great pop songs, at least in a past unremixed life, because Kamio-in-my-head is perfectly happy to listen to 12-minute vocalless jungle tracks but that shit puts me to sleep, j0.
