Oh, and did go see X2 as a matter of fact. Even more ensemble-cast-y than the first, which strikes me as unusual for a superhero movie. Have decided that it's not so much that Sir Ian McKellen wasn't playing his character straight, as wossname in the papers being right and there's a lot of coded queering going on in general. Marvel with subtext! And wossname was actually complaining that there wasn't enough political allegory, or something!

Am kind of enjoying this sensation of being a total newbie, and not quite knowing what's going on while everyone else is conversant with a bazillion issues worth of backstory. :D Hasn't happened for a while.
