Things I learnt today that I could probably have survived not knowing:

• The "Gregorian" version of Depeche Mode's "Blasphemous Rumours" that for months helvetius and I have joked must be a plainchant cover done by monks... turns out to be a plainchant cover done by monks.
  
  
• Upon which note, it appears they got the Vienna Boys' Choir to cover the Back Street Boys.
  
  
• Not only are people still writing Lex/Eminem, there are more of them. The WHO expects the epidemic to worsen before it's brought under control.
  
  
• Lex Luthor's rapper name is purportedly "LL".
  
  
• Crowley x Aziraphale in a Japanese high school AU... bears a disturbing but distinct resemblance to Kaga x Tsutsui.
  

(Yes, I can use this as a condensed newsfeed of my lj-friends if I want to, and yes, I did mention "could survive without knowing", didn't I?)

Yeah... note also covers of "Blue Monday" and "Ordinary World". o_O; Actually, it would appear that finding pop songs to cover in Gregorian chant is a difficult task, since there are certain notes, chords etc. that one can't use if one is to be true to the form, so one must take what one can. But... someone in the monastery is obviously much with the synth...
