Five Star Stories links (redux)
May. 25th, 2002 01:12 amAnd the fanart sl0ring continues:
Dj cover for the twins, Palsuet+Jorn, and Dai+Christinne. All Vol.10 stuff, so you may as well visit her main site, as she flits through all manner of series. (Here's Harry+Snape, for instance, and here's Alucard+Integra. ...And I'll just be quietly dying of shock at what Integra's wearing. Impeccable taste, eh?)
Chibideformed fatima - page 1 and page 2. ^__^ Plus, Atropos, Kimono!Aisha, and Amaterasu+Lachesis in the full ceremonial get-up.
At last, A site that features pics of Suezou.. :P Kaya's CGs are all worth a look - this and this are from the movie art, for instance, but prettier.
Cutest pic of Est in her new costume - and here's one of her in the old one. And here she is with her twin Built (it makes more sense if you know Est stood for 'Establish').
Prominence and Chandanna: bet you five bucks that Chandanna came about due to Ikuhara...
Nocturne is flash-layout. But it's a pretty flash layout - and the FSS artwork comes in a high-gloss gothy Malice Mizer CG style that makes me extremely happy. Dig Auxo, and Megaera, and Christine V, and Vos Djyasfoart (which is sort of like doing fanart of Alexis Hargreaves or Tom Riddle, so this is a Sarah Davis sensibility at work). And Marjer (Ballanche #4), which image deserves a line of its own. (See? MM!) And Aisha. Gosh, I love Aisha. ...And a most kickass pic of Ssizz (pronounced Shizu, if you wonder).
...Methinks that's it for today. XD It's like Haripota or FFX - no end in sight.

Date: 2002-05-25 08:07 am (UTC)I'll have to look at the other art when I'm more coherent and not at work. And not using IE 6, which is a Work of Great Evil.
(and yes, I am now slightly interested in FSS, but me and mail order anything do not get along at all...and I live in Minneapolis. In short, the Land Where Manga Is Not Sold.)

Date: 2002-05-27 01:13 am (UTC)Yeah, '+' is nothing implied, '/' is slash. *g* And most of the pics on that page were old. Snape is a relatively uncommon Japanese fanart subject, though, unless it's just that I haven't been looking.

It's not an arm-twisting thing. Damn thing costs limbs. *g* It's one of the few series I even bother to evangelise, though: FSS is the Japanese answer to Star Wars, and there's just not much of an English fandom except for those enlightened model kit builders who have realised that every mech design of the '90s is ripped off either Gundam or FSS. No FSS, no Evangelion *or* Escaflowne.

Date: 2002-05-26 11:41 pm (UTC)... what happened to Aisha's green hair? I may cry. Or was that just her big feather thing?
But, mmmm. That's some nice fanart, there. Sadly, I don't know who half these people are (arrrgh furigana-less kanji arrrrgh!), but... man. I'll just be drooling on Auxo for a while.
In the interests of retaliatory sloring, did I ever show you the really good CG fanart of Morrolan?

Date: 2002-05-27 01:02 am (UTC)I don't know how far along they are? Justin says he's up to vol.3, but he's due for another order. The issues are thicker than I'd expect for what they contain. I don't know what makes up the difference. The sound F/X key, maybe.

The green is dye. Essentially, that was just how she was styling her hair in 2899. *g* It's brown and wavy naturally, and she has it like that starting... vol.4, I think.

Heh heh. Auxo's my favorite, actually; followed by Palsuet and Megaera. (I sort of waffle on whether I consider the Fates actual fatima. Atropos sure as heck ain't.) She has one of the niftier histories of the Ballanche fatimas, but that's all sorts of spoilers.
If there's stuff you want to clear up about it, mail me. I'm dying to blather over this thing. XD

No. Please do. :P

Date: 2002-05-27 02:57 am (UTC)Go forth and worship, for he... is a Duke, genetically descended from actual dragons, a witch and a sorcerer, wielder of a Great Weapon, collects soul-eating swords, is possibly the best swordsman in the Empire, and (according to one book) is 'the sort of fellow who restyled his hair every week, and paid great attention to the care of his nails'. Oh, and at one point his cloak 'whipped about him in a frenzy of romantic appeal'. He's also a vicious, bloodthirsty bastard who gets all the good lines, and once slowly dismembered and killed a man (not that bad -- they can ressurect folk, in this here series) for the sake of his same-sex incestous crush on a dead man (his uncle) who nearly overthrew the Empire and destroyed an entire city of people, creating a Sea of Chaos.
For a while, we thought he sacrificed whole villages to his Demon Goddess, but it wasn't that bad, really. He does have a high tower in his keep with an altar (amongst other stuff) to which people can be chained.
And he lives in a floating castle that's all black. Castle Black. It has a constant soiree going on in it, a party that's never been empty since the Castle was built.
And he wears almost all black.
He is a bishounen escaped from the works of Kaori Yuki, hiding in Steven Brust's head. Morrolan r0xx0rz.
