Baby diary: 6 1/2 weeks

Went for my last ob-gyn appointment today. Down there was quite the mess but 6 weeks later it's healed up really well. The thing about hospitals is that the doctor who delivered the baby isn't the ob-gyn I see, and in fact isn't the doctor who stitched me up - the former had to go straight into a C-section, so two med students held my legs until another colleague came in and did that. I was told afterward that she was a pelvic floor specialty surgeon and could be counted on to do a meticulous job. And it was? It's just very strange to have your anatomy depend on someone you barely catch the name of, never saw before, and probably will never see again.
- Tetchy yesterday until midnight, but slept OK after that - I lay down next to the bassinet and stuck my hand over the side and rubbed his stomach until he passed out XD; Mostly at night he's calm if I'm calm, meaning it helps if I fake breathe like I'm asleep XD;;
- All smiles in the morning - took advantage to shampoo his hair over the sink - he likes this salon treatment more than actual bathing, clearly enjoyed it even when the nurses first washed his hair 48 hours after birth
- Today for the first time: followed my dad around the living room with his eyes, and was very hyped to do so
- Possibly thinks the life-size painting of my sister... is my sister?
