petroniaStill writing. (It goes at the rate of about a page per night, okay. That's productive for me.) More self-insert than ever. T_T I don't know why I feel it especially keenly this time around: it's what I always do, after all, borrow the eyes of the character I recognize as being somehow *me*, in order to... look at someone else. I'm still not sure which is chicken, and which egg.
(Maybe it's just that Ryou has more *leverage* to remind me that he's like me. He's not crazed or sociopathic, after all, not many-identity'd or engaged in anything supernaturally extraordinary, and lives in a house that resembles some of the houses I've spent a lot of time in, although not my own. His room is rather like mine. Only with more computers. I realised that I was inserting the contents of my own bedroom into the camera's blind spots in his, and twitched horribly.)
And of course no one will notice. No-one's ever read one of my fics and said, "boy, this is no-wise the real Duo Maxwell, it's just the authorial twink mapping her own crush for Heero Yuy onto Duo Maxwell." Or at least, they've never said so to me directly. ^^;;; And for all I know, it's what everyone does in their heart of hearts. Just, doesn't it sound dweeby and fangirly when you put it like that?
