Doctor Who S05E12, "The Lodger Who Despite Obvious Appearances Is Not Running A Meth Lab, It Is Weirder Than That": no but srsly, when the chick was like "what if he's a dealer" over the phone and the dude was like, haha oh you, I was like, well yeah!! I mean, dude shows up at your front door with three grand in cash in a paper bag, obviously high and calling himself "the Doctor". PhD in CHEMISTRY amirite.

This ep was a bit of demagogic froth in advance of Epic Shit to come the following week, but it was cute. And I mean, let's get real, if RTD had decided to do Doctor-playing-football he'd probably have had him scoring for England in the World Cup. Luckily(?!?) the Olympics took precedence. XDD

Doctor Who S05E12, "The Box Vaguely Inspired By Greek Myth Opens": oh, Jack, not another body part.

This was excellent! The sort of ep one expects out of Moffat. There was even a scary Cyberman; I wouldn't be surprised if that was the scariest a Cyberman has been in the history of the series (much as Derek Jacobi was the scariest Master for like 30 seconds). Now one sees ppl suggesting that AMY IS AN AUTON TOO and that is why she seems one-dimensional XDDD which, ok, A++ if true, if only because one would presumably get a WHOLE NEW AMY next season which would just be such a weird hairy twist (I was thinking that upcoming would be the first NuWho Christmas special** with no one angsting cos of the Doctor or the Companion having been swapped out!). Or maybe she will become a Real Girl like wossface in the Churchill ep and keep travelling with the Doctor because her house was made out of perception filters. That is one suspects a lot of the bits that didn't quite feel right the first round will prove to be THEMATIC, although it would be better if they had been unremarkably sensible but turned out to be THEMATIC anyway.

Speaking of Autons, here is one to chew over: from the Nestene point of view, did that happen before or after Auton!Mickey? (...or the Pertwee years?) In other words, did they lose too much of their technology after the Time War, or did the other members of the Pandorica Alliance help them out with that whole simulating human personality bit? Ahaha stop thinking about continuity I know that way lie Draconians.

Lots of drive-by HHGTTG-ish bits. This series is better when Rory and River are in it (pity the two of them don't get to interact). Doctor+Rory scenes still better than Doctor+Amy scenes, and River is consistently great. I mean, she is annoying, but that's kind of the point. XD The Tenth Doctor was annoying too, yanno? Although not in the same way.

Clearly someone needs to write the River-Rory conversation when he'd just volunteered to help, while the Doctor and Amy are playing dodge-the-Cyberblaster.

And Derek Jacobi was a magnificent Master. As good as Roger Delgado. (I am an old school Delgado fan.)

Very true! I wonder when he "woke up"? The AutonRomans couldn't actually have been planted on-site for very long, because if I understand correctly the Autons didn't know when the Doctor would show up and spring their trap - they would have had to wait until he got close enough that the Pandorica detected him and started broadcasting. No, right, they got it out of Amy's subconscious... There is definitely a piece missing, though, because assuming they would end up there just because the Companion was into Romans and the myth of Pandora as a kid? Bit of a long shot. I mean, if Rose Tyler's favorite song as a kiddie was "Can't Touch This" does that therefore follow that she and Ten will eventually end up at an MC Hammer concert in 1990?

What am I even saying LOL

...I find it very hard to imagine the Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, Autons etc. sitting down around a table and devising this plan. XD;

Well, if they (they being whoever planned this) were involved in the date on van Gogh's painting, then they could have "set up" the Romans shortly before that date, just in case the Doctor turned up early.

I too suspect that someone else is behind all this. I just have a nasty feeling it may be the Doctor himself.
