Real life LJ update
Jun. 1st, 2010 01:00 pm1) Botanical garden on Victoria Day with T and Talal and his colleague. Serendipitously Kara emailed me asking about this poem:
人间四月芳菲尽, sasuga Bai Juyi my love. Tulips and daffodils completely dug up, apple blossom nearly gone, lilacs fading, roses not started. There were peonies, at any rate.
2)
sub_divided,
jokersama and
calintz in town for the weekend (Memorial Day to Murricans). :) We went to Au Pied du Cochon. The food was delish and prices reasonable, but it was just too warm for my digestive system to deal equably with, like, deep fried foie gras. This is the time of year when I eat papaya and blackberries for lunch.
3) The great Montreal clothing swap:

More pictures and writeup by person here. It was a madhouse! People are vultures and if you leave clothing in bins hidden under tables they will drag the bins out, dump the contents in piles on the floor and start undressing in dark corners. Was supposed to emcee (walk around with mic, make announcements and look pretty), bumped to "floor manager" instead in mysterious Jim Kirk-stylee promotion. Ran feet off for ten hours guzzling Hype and reinventing the retail wheel, crowd flow and logistics of re-racking etc. It was oddly enjoyable. XD;; I miss the crazy ad-hoc moments of the MBA, I think. T did not like it much as it was supposedly much more relaxed fun for the volunteers in previous years, and also she put a lot of work into the event beforehand. I just feel like I worked for a Saturday and was "paid" at higher than my going rate in clothing and drinks tickets (even got a gorgeous suitcase out of the deal).
人间四月芳菲尽,山寺桃花始盛开。
长恨春归无觅处,不知转入此中来。
