S03 E13 The Last of the Time Lords: "Are we not doing a shoujo ending this ti--oh no wait we're doing CLAMP, silly me, of course." If Fandom were a language there would be a single word for the-awkward-feeling-of-not-having-read-the-Tokyo-Babylon-equivalent. Also they are laying the Christ thing on a bit thick aren't they. I blame the bombastic music.

S04 E01 Partners in Crime: saving my thoughts on Donna for actual essay re: Companions, which doesn't leave much here ahaha.

S04 E02 The Fires of Pompeii: Not to nitpick a great ep and all, but I'm iffy on Donna "down the pub when aliens invaded and missed it all" Noble knowing that in Pompeii you were better off running for the hills than for the beach. Differentiating between "common knowledge" and "factoid I happen to know" is always a bitch, granted.

S04 E03 Planet of the Ood: not a little Delany in this, huh. Pity the time-travel plot would've been too plagiarism-tastic, it's very Moffat.

S04 E04-05 The Sontaran Strategem / The Poison Sky: "UNIT" makes me think of "NATO" in From Eroica With Love. Someone was on that crossover 20 years ago I imagine. P.S. srsly Doctor I know you angst about this and I don't wanna be rude but YOU HAVE KILLED TONS OF PPL AND/OR CONSIGNED THEM TO ETERNAL SUFFERING, so what if you didn't actually shoot them in the face with a gun.

S04 E06 The Doctor's Daughter: I was set for this to be the most horrific Mary Sue of all time, and/or a parody, and it turned out to be a pretty good ep played straight! Clearly what is going to happen here is that Jenny will run into Captain Jack first, and then the Doctor will really have to cut a bitch.

Will do some actual meta rather than one-liners when I have my brain back.

Torchwood is not relevant. XDD DW fandom has winning combo of nitpicky old-skool fen and a concept structurally designed to implode in shipping wank, but the show itself is awesome. I guess it is quite literally the version of Doctor Who that Vince out of Queer As Folk always dreamt of, in which cheesy/clever skiffy out-shoujo mangas shoujo manga.
