It Might Get Loud: Jack White is one crazy mofo, but truth be told I didn't need to watch the documentary to derive that insight, which I guess is the thing's weakness. It was an easy sort of fun, though: seeing these guys wander around their old haunts, tell stories, geek out over teenage favorites, play gigs, make demos, talk shop, jam. (That last was an intimate living room affair in the center of a warehouse soundstage with about 200 people milling about out of sight. IDK if the filmmakers were expecting Suddenly Supergroup!!! sort of chemistry or... what. XD;) The Edge is ttly down to earth, Jimmy Page has the aura of an old martial arts master - the Tao of Rock. Cute/embarrassing juvenilia footage. I suspect this would have been 200% more awesome if I actually played guitar, as opposed to merely being a music fan. Was surprised at how many of the songs and riffs I knew, though; at times it's hard not to groove along in one's seat.
Every time I encounter stock footage of Robert Plant the same thought crosses my mind: "what a wonderful invention colour film is". XD;
