Did a semi-poll on DW and everyone voted either fashion post or STxi fic recs. So this is the former, which I'm doing in 15 minutes before leaving the house, because I'll have another batch of Fantasia flicks to write up by tonight and will never get around to it otherwise. XD;

that is a picture of my bad-ass fuchsia leather jacket
I bought it for $175 at the Danier outlet 10 minutes walk from my place
it was on sale from $350
that is the most amount of money I have ever spent from my own funds on a single item of clothing
although I had $200 Anne Klein stilettos bought for me for prom
(those were 1997 dollars
they were totally worth it I still wear them to parties
Anne Kleins are so comfortable other people are baffled because they can't believe you can walk in them)

I don't know why I haven't posted about this jacket
it has been the single biggest defining factor of the past six months of my life
including getting my MBA
here is another shot that is less blurry

fuchsia is my favorite colour this year
even if I keep misspelling it "fuschia"
according to Wikipedia this colour is actually fashion fuchsia or Hollywood cerise
it is very "in"
psychologically it is a way to say FUCK YOU to the global economic crisis
not a refusal to stop being materialistic
but a refusal to live in fear
you can wear fuchsia even if you are broke as in fact I am

for instance this official Fantasia 2009 t-shirt only costs $15
the bunny-eared monster is printed in silver
my leather jacket is a spring/fall jacket I refuse to wear leather in July
even if the weather has sometimes called for it

idk why there are so many spots on the bloody mirror

Last year this time I got a haircut that ended up looking like Alison Mosshart out of the Kills, this year I got approximately the same haircut but it keeps flipping outward like it's trying to pay tribute to Farrah Fawcett. IDEK.

Could be worse. At least your hair didn't burst into flames in tribute to MJ.

The spots mightn't be on the mirror, they might be on the lens of your camera?

I have a fuchsia shirt too! White with overlapping fuchsia polka dots. Kind of crinoline, but cut (to me) like a Hawaiin shirt. I only bought it because I didn't notice the price tag ($80 ^^;). On the other hand the squatter in my father's office who publishes a fashion 'zine and sometimes takes over the space in the back where the architects used to be, and who is 6'7" and European and has never deigned to speak to me, started a conversation about the weather when I was wearing this shirt, so I figure it must be high-fashion-approved.

...takes over the space in the back where the architects used to be to stage photoshoots. Really! The last one used a model who had a haircut like Sana's mom in Kodocha.

I don't know, he just showed up one day! What's really funny is that he acts like he owns the place - for the longest time I thought he DID own his own space, or at least that he was paying rent on it. He has a mailbox and the front-desk receptionist sorts his mail just everyone else's. The folks in dad's office are pretty relaxed so they treat it as free entertainment.

Okay, I will. :D

Coldest July on record to date and showing no signs of warming up in the next ten days. I'm lovin' it.

That said, fuchsia is love. Had I the figure still for fuchsia leather jackets I would definitely wear one; but middle-aged boobage = need for tailor made.

And Montreal is cooler than Toronto! :P But in a way it's good because at least I get work done on rainy days. I can't sit still in front of the computer when it's nice out.

What's wrong with leather in July?

Doesn't look like the flpping outward is too bad to me, or at least it isn't too obvious in these pics. Btw, for a color like hot pink, you manage to pull if off surprisingly well. Do you wear bright yellow too? It'd probably suit you pretty well.

About those Anne Klein shoes, do they have a rounded or square end. I find that shoes that squish my toes can't be worn for long unless they're low-heeled. :(
