Chrissie got me The World Ends With You (with the expectation of borrowing it after I'm done) so after almost six months of not playing any games, I'm suddenly playing a video game again. And...this game is ridiculous. You are actually expected to control both characters in a two-person team simultaneously, using one hand for each character (and with each character on a seperate DS screen). The game throws you right into the middle of a complicated plot and gives you barely any time to work out the controls...though there's a meta aspect to this as well, since the in-game plot revolves around yr average anti-social teenager suddenly being thrust into a real-life videogame whose rules and purpose he doesn't understand.

Anyway I would never, ever give this to someone who had never played a videogame before. I'd hestitate before giving it even to a moderately serious (but not hardcore) gamer.
