Catching up extremely late to say re: your In Order of Disappearance review ... whoa, another Norway mafia media piece? Is this a thing now? (I mean, the US has a lot of mafia movies, but ... Norway boggles the mind a bit.) Asking b/c I spent a lot of 2014 watching HBO's Lillehammer, which judging by your summary could exist in the same universe. XD Wondering if they reused the sets ...

Well, Scandinavian noir is in general a big thing nowadays, isn't it? And I do see that intersecting with the general Scandi focus on worthy social realism. XD It's been a rising arc since the late 90s-early 00s: I think the grandfather of the gritty mafia stuff isn't Girl With The Dragon Tattoo so much as Winding Refn's Pusher Trilogy (Pusher 1 is really the first Dogme film by any meaningful standard, other than of course the fact that it's a genre film with murders. And Winding Refn was never in the Dogme camp, possibly because dude was a 20 year old who only wanted to make shoot'em ups. XD Anyway ppl are still remaking versions of that movie to this very day).

Ahhhh I want to see the Kenshin movie(s) so badly - the first one was pretty amazing as long as you knew the series (we watched with one who wasn't who was entertained but extremely confused by the greatest-hits-of-season-1 parade) but then to find they were doing the Kyoto arc, oh! Can't wait for them to come out in some format I can see 'em!

And your GotG review was pretty spot-on - I enjoyed it but couldn't tell if its checklist approach to action movie cliches was a bug or a feature. Don't know the comics though so I missed that part. (I was very happy that the raccoon was so entertaining. And also not perving on humanoid women as that's a logical discrepancy that really irritates me with some other similar characters.)
