On Christmas mail
Dec. 15th, 2007 02:15 pmThanks to
calintz and
nemissa for awesome art cards, btw - I got them a while back but never posted. ^^; I really love getting Christmas cards, and for that matter sending them, although I tend to write the same things on each one ("How are you, it is snowing lots here, sorry I ran out of time to make your mix CD").
In any case they have started arriving!
beeblebabe let me know she received and listened to hers on Friday. So here is the tracklisting, and mp3s so you don't have to bother ripping it. Everyone else feel free to gack as well obv, that is pretty much how it will go from here on out. XD
WORKDAY TECHNO MIX
Designed to be put on repeat as pleasant BGM for computer work. LOOP DE LOOP DE LOOP DE LOOP
01. Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas - Nummer Fire En
02. We Can Do It! - Der Geist In Der Muschel
03. Samim - Heater
04. Sideshow - Philly Soundworks
05. Ricardo Villalobos - MDMA
06. Superpitcher - Superjam
07. Animal Collective - Peacebone (Pantha Du Prince Remix)
08. A Mountain Of One - Brown Piano (Remake By Studio)
BONUS: Polmo Polpo - Kiss Me Again And Again
I told Whit about this track I left off, although it fits with the loping/looping disco jam feel of the thing - actually, it may be the ultimate looping disco jam - because it would've pushed like three other tracks off the CD, and she said she'd download it, so. XD Despite being twenty minutes long it's a smaller file than "Nummer Fire En", which is 14:14 at 320kbps (That Seventies Feeling only kicks in at the ninth minute). I've written here and there about some of the others so I'll just take a moment to point out "Superjam", which I think is MASSIVELY UNDERRATED (granted the title made me ONYDNT, and it is two-finger synth noodling, but when the thing starts chugging along I'm glued to it from beginning to end), and the Animal Collective, which may even be a bit overrated (of the "use 3-second snippets of indie rock as building blocks for completely unrelated techno track" school of remixing). The rest are probably rated as they deserve. XD Honesty compells me to admit that half of these came off of this one blog post by some dude I don't remember, but it was a great playlist okay.
