For [livejournal.com profile] surlykitty: The Rapture - W.A.Y.U.H. (Simian Mobile Disco Remix)

For [livejournal.com profile] supplanter: Uhm Jung Hwa - Chodae

For [livejournal.com profile] iatros: Robyn - Konichiwa Bitches (Trentemoller Remix)

Robyn - Konichiwa Bitches: original version for comparative purposes, but I like the remix much better (Robyn's original tracks never really stick with me). Apparently I owe G's gaming group an apology as he liked the song so much he based an NPC on it. XD;

Robyn - Crash And Burn Girl (Jesper Dahlbäck Remix): another remix I quite like. I may have posted it before, actually. I have both DJ mixes Jesper Dahlbäck did with Turbo in '99-'00, back when minimal house was just erm sort of stripped-down sounding smooth house, but this is more electro.

Yesterday: worked overtime, got a haircut that's a bit shorter/longer in places than I wanted, bought cake and ate it while marathoning Honey and Clover with T. Now at episode 16. This may be the wrong way to go about the series, I'm not sure, but I think we were both a bit depressed by it. XD; Too much like the RL social circle, not in specifics but the sense of, it's ALWAYS the same five people yet mysteriously NO ONE manages to get what they want and the semi-acknowledged tension goes on and on FOR YEARS until you start thinking maybe the problem is you need to start hanging out with people who aren't the same five people all the time, except those five people are your, well, pretty much. Also: OSHI WE'RE GETTING OLD LET'S THROW A HOUSE PARTY ASAP.

When it's funny it's wickedly funny, though.

EDIT -- 2 1/2 hours into Pantha Du Prince set and I hear HARMONICA SOLO, this had better not be another wussy Fleetwood Mac cover.

But isn't that exactly what makes this series so appealing? Pretty much everyone seems to be able to relate to it in a been there, done that kind of way. Although i agree that marathoning it might be a bit unhealthy...XD

Absolutely! You gotta watch the special episodes, they are absolutely hilarious!

Oh it's super appealing in an AHHH WHAT HAPPENS OK ONE MORE EPISODE way, we watched until our eyeballs fell out. XD; The answer to which being, a lot happens and yet nothing happens. Just like Life.

Also I know all the music very, very well.

Haha, yeah, the music really helped hook me onto H&C, and they're really well-done insert songs too. (Er, well-inserted? Whatever.)

When I first was recommended the series, I got about 10 episodes in and decided it wasn't really for me, as there didn't seem to be much happening and I didn't think I was a fan of relationship-type shows, and the moe creeped me out. I came back to it a few months later and it ate my brain. Then I infected my roommates with it (I think it was their sort-of first tv anime series ever, so I've spoiled them XD ).

What's neat is how close it is to the manga, too. Even the jokes are pretty much the same! And still funny! Ham guy is the best. X3 It is kind of startling how close the characters are to people you actually know or went to school with.

agree with everything you say abt honey and clover... i think it remains my favourite manga, though.
was worse for me because i was also a poor art student with several unresolved relationship issues T^T;;; so there really WAS a been there done that for me -___-;;

Happy Birthday! ^^ Yeah, that's what pretty much everyone's saying - it's the good and the bad both, as it were. XD

It's a re-up, that track was on one of my mixes from ages ago. I've been listening to what you gave me though. XD

Thaaaaaaank you! :D

... who is this robyn person? XD;;

(... I must say this isn't how I'd pictured her (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Robyn%2C_Karlskrona%2C_augusti_2005.jpg). o.o)

You don't remember her from the nineties (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6kH3BQeqRc)? XD She was pretty big circa Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys, and continued to be big in Sweden. Although from a North American perspective she disappeared after those 90s pop singles and suddenly resurfaced in 2005 with indie electropop cred. XD

Oh!  I'd wondered if she were supposed to have sung "show me love", but I didn't look closely enough at her singles.  I hadn't known that Robyn was spelled like this, though. XD

(Predictably, I only remember "show me love" and "do you know". XD;;;  I think 1996-1997 was the first time I had cable, too....)

(I didn't much like either version of "konichiwa bitches" (AN N IS MISSING, MISSING) but I still like her singing voice, what can be heard of it in the other track. :D)

Or too much like RL social circle in the sense that these people are not unattractive yet no one ever gets laid. XD V. pleased to hear you're watching HachiKuro. If you press on, they do in fact start hanging out with other people.

Ahaha is he? I was distracted by how he oddly resembles Spike Spiegel. XD; COWBOY BEBOP IS THE ART TEACHER.

(As Rufus Wainwright sang:

There I was in uniform
Looking at the art teacher
I was just a girl then;
Never have I loved since then
)

We are definitely going to press on. ♥
