Chanel Ready To Wear Spring/Summer 2007 runway show in its entirety: part 1 | part 2 | part 3

This collection makes me love the world. My summer = knockoffs of this, minus the black sequined hotpants (which I think is just semiotics for "look at the jacket, dammit"). Going to start wearing my hair in a ponytail with a black organza bow. And, uh, doing yoga. Lots and lots of yoga.

One day I will wear Chanel. But not soon. XD When I am sixty and have very distinguished hair and a beautiful garden in which I will give cocktail parties. You are all invited of course.

(Karl Lagerfeld terrifies me, though; I remember when he wasn't skinny, first of all, so now when I see him I'm like AAAAHHHH (note: true of everyone, not just me), and secondly he has this mix album out of All His Favorite Songs and it is like, The Pipettes, Matmos, and Lindstrom & Prins Thomas.)

Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2007: part 1 | part 2

Fragonard shepherdesses! Also - Chinatown knocks off Vuitton bags for great profit, Vuitton knocks off Chinatown bags for great lulz. ...And profit. I quite like this, which is rare because I usually don't bother to like clothes I know I'd look ridiculous in (ruffles, tulle, ruching), but the palette is lovely. Though, I always think of that great quote by the CEO of Muji re how there're two kinds of people in Japan: Vuitton people and Muji people. No guesses as to which side of the line I fall on. XD

Take it away, Cio-Cio-San!

I used to enjoy watching fashion shows, until I grew older and gained weight. Now, honestly, I feel that unless the so-called elite start designing clothes for women who aren't a size 2, they're not worth the trouble. :-P

But yes, the black bows that the Chanel girls were wearing were very cute.

Omg so true. Karl Lagerfeld is so frightening - not least because he is of a certain age and still able to wear skintight black jeans and lace cuffs. (Also, now he looks (a) dessicated and (b) like his head is too big for his body, but if the Kaiser hears about this, I will deny having said it to my dying breath.) John Galliano's insanity seems positively charming by comparison.
