Wordcount woes + music

petroniaI've written 3,500 words in two weeks which isn't bad for me, but it's unsatisfactory because I've made the ficlets too long (averaging 600 words each), so really I've only completed five and a half requests. >_> To make myself feel better I complied my total wordcount for 2006 today - 43,600 with twenty days to go, versus 41,500 last year - but it's still unsatisfactory, because it makes me feel like I should push for 50,000 before year end. (Maybe with the SSBB fic?) Oh well, I should just accept that I'm currently on some sort of neurotic overachieving hamster wheel and go with the ride. XD;;
Today's theme is... Guns n' Roses covers! (Inspired by Stereogum-I-think-it-was who posted selections from a bossa Gn'R cover album a while back.)

Akiko - Paradise City: the J-funk.
Flat Pack - Sweet Child O' Mine (Mylo Club Mix): and, of course, the electropop.
DMX Krew - You Can't Hide Your Love (Hidden Love Mix): rocking this one going on a year and a half now, inexplicably never posted (though I've burned and mailed it a couple of times XD). Awesome jittery electro groove, wid vocals.
Savina Giannatou - Bghke apo th thalassa h arxontissa: I just spent the whole evening reading Privilege of the Sword (after having spent most of the afternoon re-reading Swordspoint), and now I'm stuck on the one Savina Giannatou song over and over. =_= Much like my Russian my Greek isn't up to basics let alone par but 'thalassa' is sea and 'arxontissa' is something like lady. What I really want is a specific track from G's marathon drinking sessions but I haven't got it.
Oh heck have another: Celso Fonseca - Delicate
I pulled this out randomly and have been caning it on my mp3 player forweeks. It's the most beautiful song in the world, at least for a time.
