Many happy returns to the inestimable Miss Jae Young! Also, late (because I'm really lame about this sort of thing) happy birthday to
triniophoenicis and
youkofujima. Also-also, early (because no doubt I'd miss it otherwise) happy birthday to
pere_chan and
woodburner.
(Boy, a lot of you were born in September.)
Stuff that doesn't belong in the same entry, but I don't want to spam with a new one:
Got the wiggly root canal tooth removed yesterday - or rather half removed, as the root is still in. So it is only a gap not a hole, and since it was a root canal to begin with it doesn't hurt, and I can still eat and brush. It's going to remain this way until I come back from China, which judging from my parents' reactions should delight my grandparents immensely - not. ^^; Then again it's a molar so with luck they don't have to know about it.
Fissured or not, frozen or not, having the dentist break your tooth in half is a totally nasty feeling. XD;
After that I gave myself the evening off, so watched - uh - episodes 18-19 of Ouran (terribly subtitled, will wait for proper ones in future) and the first ep of Chevalier. Any anime in which Marie of Poland schleps around a talking voodoo skull is a-ok with me, I... guess. o_o (This is one of my better historical periods and I can safely say they got some stuff wrong, but accuracy is probably not what I should worry about.) Then attempted to catch up with TRC and xxxHolic, with indifferent success. Somehow I'm less inspired than I should be by watching the cast of X perform Frank Herbert's Dune (geez CLAMP is on crack), even if each and every Kurogane-and-Fye scene is made of awesome. It's the sort of thing CLAMP couldn't have written a decade ago: angst where the emotions are frank and human and not those of space aliens. Accordingly the fic is nowhere near as awesome as those for the space-alien series - TB, X1999 and RGV - the few that I've read anyway. PLEASE. PROVE ME WRONG. REC ME YOUR FAVES.
Time to leave for dental appointment again. =_=

Date: 2006-08-29 04:24 pm (UTC)This utterly fails to tell me where you are in the series. And the problem with Tsubasa fic, IMHO, is that, anything you can do, CLAMP *will* do better...
Also, Chevalier = <333. Evil demonic Russians! I'm amused enough they *are* diving to pull out some of those names. Now let's see where it goes from here.

Date: 2006-08-29 10:13 pm (UTC)I was about to mention the new Lunar releases, but I see someone else did that already. (And, um, did you have any warnings about which sub group NOT to watch for Bleach?)

Date: 2006-08-30 01:48 am (UTC)Ouran is oddly amusing/addictive, even though I absolutely despise the popular, beloved twins.

Date: 2006-09-05 03:55 am (UTC)I was just about to post a review of that Shioul - if any anime in last few years deserves the stamp 'Shioul-approved' this is IT. [g]
Oh, and are you aware of the particulars of life of the historical d'Eon Beaumont..? [eg]
