In my defense I bought the thing before getting into Ricardo "the 12-minute one is the edit" Villalobos and his ilk, who was to know, I could've ended up listening to 2:30 Devendra Banhart freak folk ditties all the time. Still could, probably. What goes around comes around, like hemlines.

While boiling water for coffee in the small office kitchen today I had a revelation: I can make Kompakt Kittens now. I mean, watch the event listener part be more complicated than I assume, but the basic concept is rilly rilly simple.

...I have a feeling this will end badly. Dammit, why didn't I think of it before my final project?

Bent - Comin' Back: you know how sometimes you go on a downloading spree but don't actually listen for a while and then you come across a perfect pop song in the jumbled pile but no longer remember which blog it's from let alone anything about the band from the accompanying blurb? Yeah. Also I think my taste in indiepop is becoming parodically self-evident. ^^;

Camera Obscura - Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken: not a My Little Airport cover. So... it is a trend, then. *g* (BTW I do not believe My Little Airport are dead. My Little Airport will live forever!)

Gabriel Ananda - Ihre Personliche Glucksmelodie (Dominik Eulberg Remix): not a Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart cover (look, after the Rave-L it bears statement). I don't have the original version of this, actually [1], though I've listened to the remix enough to know what part of it is the original, and also that I've heard it out, big surprise.

...I can't think of anything to say about this specific track other than "by this point each one of you should know whether you want to download dark, stompy teutonic electrohouse from me or not". XD I do have peanut-gallery commentary re: "Lauschgoldengel" (srsly don't the titles sound like classical music?), but that'll have to wait until Saturday. (25.7MB)

All I can claim credit for is the Bent mp3; I think I posted it about...two weeks ago or something. Bent's a fun band; they're electronic so they borrow a lot of vocalists or samples as they please.

So it was you! XD I really have no memory whatsoever. Was listening to it for several days on an mp3 CD thinking it was off the new Stars album, then checked on the computer and discovered it was nothing of the sort.
