I really want to watch the World Cup but - like four years ago - have basically no way of doing so. =_= Best I can do is live updated scores on customised Google home page, which I'm playing with today. It has a click-and-drag interface for RSS feed components, like MS Sharepoint dashboards but (surprise surprise) much cleaner.

(If Google ever decides to step into the physical world - actually, if Google ever decides to step into the physical world it would start by merging with Muji. And then all will be over. orz)

Last night my Amazon Japan shipment came in, latest GB and SBR and a bunch of BL stuff. I'll review later. IT NEVER ENDS. But holy crap, love and fingers crossed for Lucy Steel. And no spoilers. Anyone dares to spoiler me for the next chapters, they'd best come bearing magazine scans.

Araki started upgrading his style again, nearly as soon as the serialisation switched magazines. o_o Except this time he seems to have a specific idea of what he wants to achieve and is getting there in parts. Halfway through the Pork Pie Hat fight he switches pens, and you see him trying out new shading/outlining methods - lighter lines and lots of crosshatch. Then he goes to town on face shots and such. You get the impression he's teaching himself to draw his own characters all over again (the facial features are getting more realistically detailed and varied, and he seems to be consciously reining in anatomical excesses), and at the end of stage 3 there's a whole series of "now he's got it, oh now he hasn't" panels.

It's cool to see a mangaka change their style on purpose. o_o Most of the time it happens gradually, though, or if drastically not halfway through an ongoing series (even the last drastic shift in JoJo artwork occurred more or less at the very end of part 4, because Araki wanted to do something different for part 5 I guess). And if Araki really gets to where he seems to be going with this then there aren't going to be any anatomical excesses in JoJo at all, which is sort of...... I guess they'll dress extra weird to make up for it.

Oh, and JoJo fans: -->.

EHEHE, thanks for the hilarious link. XD I must go and dive into the world of Japanese fandom once I'm done w/ part 5.

WHAT?!?! Jojo w/out anatomical excesses? I kind of want to see just to gape.

A random page. (http://www.chthonian.net/teehee/sbr11_37.jpg) Although, you know, for a character named "Ringo" shouldn't there be anatomical excesses? *stares at his nose*

I'm really not sure what to think about Ringo. :0 (I know what I want to say to the author, though. DAER ARAKI SENSEI ENOUGH WITH THE SHOTA RAPE ALREADY KTHX)

Hmm, you are right, it has become a lot more realistic. Part I was.... let us just move on. Part II, was obviously distorted in a comic book-like style, and so was part 3, to an extent. Part 4 was vaguely SDed, and Part 5 had all of the characters being stylized and purty. But the faces in part 7 seem a lot more normal looking.
