Saturday night pop
Apr. 22nd, 2006 10:03 pmCircumstances are dragging me kicking and screaming from my minimal/electro/disco ghetto; I guess this is a good thing.
Utada Hikaru - Devil Inside (RJD2 Remix): ...I thought, how. Since when. XD Unexpectedness aside it's quite good; I like it better than the original production, which despite its jittery-techno innovation is just... not interesting. Like there's no song underneath. The entirety of Exodus is this way. I can't think of another album that sounds more like something I should love, and yet fails to hook me so completely.
RJD2 was a show I missed because it was back-to-back with something else, a year or two ago - otherwise he'd definitely be worth checking out.
The Delfonics - Hey Love: smoooooooth 60's Philly soul ballad. Like being two-thirds of the way through a glass of cool white wine, the moment the alcohol hits your bloodstream.
Tommy february6 - Can't Take My Eyes Off You: in case you haven't heard it. It's always good to review the classics once in a while. XD
EDIT -- current playlist. I make these like sand mandalas; this is the moment I wipe and start anew. XD
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
Oliver Cheatham - Get Down Saturday Night
Nelly Furtado - Promiscuous Girl
Laura Branigan - Self-Control
Prince - When 2 R In Love
Seiko - Who's That Boy?
Sans Serac - Tyrant (Original Mix)
New Order - Paradise **
Cagedbaby - Hello There (Presets Remix)
Ellen Allien and Apparat - Do Not Break
Kavinsky - Testarossa Autodrive
Pet Shop Boys - Paninaro
Matia Bazar - Ti Sento
** Talking about JoJo reminded me of this, because every time I hear it I'm like, "Who the heck is Jolene?" For some reason it just seems like an odd name to put in a song, if you're not Dolly Parton.
...I should be grateful Araki doesn't seem to be into Manchester.
Think it's either stuff I've uploaded or that's made the rounds... well, poke me if you want any of these, anyway. :P

...don't be so hasty, young grasshopper
Date: 2006-04-23 03:23 am (UTC)The Cure - Cornelio
Joy Division - Seppia
Public Image Ltd. - Rigatoni
Only one of these is Mancunian, but you can see the dangerous trend here.
There hasn't been any Morrissey stand yet, but in part 7, "Ferdinand" uses the stand "Scary Monsters" to turn everyone into dinosaurs.
There is also the stand "Underworld."
This, I think, is to balance out stands like Limp Bizkit (which creates zombies XD)
I found a nice Rigatoni recipe today
Date: 2006-04-23 04:28 am (UTC)And its Lv.2 attack is "Super Creeps" which... you know, this is all starting to seem too normal.

Date: 2006-04-23 06:01 am (UTC)I mentioned to a (non-jojo reading) friend that I'm reading Part 5 and have got to the bit where it's a fight between Notorious B.I.G. and Spice Girl and she was like "... What?" XD;;;;

Date: 2006-04-23 09:10 pm (UTC)I was glad that Araki finally discovered Bowie! D: He needed it! XD But the problems you mention is why I find it easier to say "Just read it" than to try to EXPLAIN or DESCRIBE anything. XD;
