[Poll #695391]
Maybe a bit too short in back, but I like the general idea. Also I have always wanted to make a poll about my hair. XD

Stuff that has happened in the course of the past week: on Thursday I went to the dentist for my usual semi-annual cleaning. They decided to take x-rays because I hadn't had them updated for a few years. The x-rays show a fairly severe gumline crack in the molar I had the root canal on when I was 11. Going by old x-rays a hairline crack has existed since 2001, and I've had problems with it at least since then (wobbliness, occasional sharp pangs when biting down) but of course no one could tell what was wrong until now. =_= Day late and dollar short, thus my dental history goes.

In summary, the tooth probably won't last another two years. One fine day it'll just snap in half without warning. Just the sort of reassuring news one wants to hear from one's dentist. As aforementioned it's always been a bit wobbly when I crunch celery or whatever but now that I know why I can't ignore the fact anymore. I also can't chew on the other side because that's where the pointy brittle bits are. =_= Maybe I can subsist on a diet of congee and almond tofu.

Friday: ended up at McLean's with Tania, Erin and Alex (Ced showed up some time later) after making a rapid tour of the Irish pubs in the Bishop/Crescent area, every one of which had fifty people lined up outside. Only got into McLean's itself by a fluke, really... Had fish 'n' chips and a Guinness and a Kilkenny - was pretty tuckered out and the beer made me much mellower and sleepier than usual, so ended up going home relatively early with Erin (though I'd warned that was what I was going to do anyhow XD). Not sure if the others went on pub-hopping or what. It was bloody freezing cold. More photos will surface eventually. XD

Saturday: went to housewarming party @ [livejournal.com profile] sfllaw's (the person we met at the Kobayashi concert XD), with Cedric. Enjoyed myself not a little; it's been a really long time since I've been to a "normal" potluck party at someone's house where everyone just sits around and eats and drinks and chats peaceably, and not everyone knows each other at that. It was pretty funny because most of the attendees were hackers and/or Waterloo graduates, and even those who weren't had LJs - thought the chances were pretty high that either of us would bump into an acquaintance, but astonishingly there was no social circle overlap at all. (Though it doesn't preclude the eventual discovery that someone is the friend of a friend...) Not to mention that not only did I meet [livejournal.com profile] sfllaw in uhh meatspace, it was at a scenester event. XD

Sunday: slept. A lot. XD

I did take some of you, but they were very unflattering.

Isn't it odd how one meets people? It isn't often that I meet fellow geeks at scenester events. Everyone else is either an artist or a musician or gentleman of leisure. It is nice to know that there are other people like me, with varied interests and the like.

She looks very sexy in that video. Em, other than that, long hair does give you more loose in the styling range of possibilities - but I am stating the obvious. Would certainly make you look younger by a bit. You probably mean the first haircut, as the other ones were pretty standardish. Actually, what are you exactly looking for?

I know it's not the same hairstyle, but for some reason in certain angles it really looks like Rukia's hair to me, or has a similar feel to it anyway. Which means yes, you should go for it. xD

It looks like Rukia's hair in certain angles to me too. In for a penny, in for a pound, since T has been making fun of me for having "Kuchiki hair" for ages already. =_=

arrrrhhh. your poll cut me off! the nerve! i was trying to type in that I strongly lean towards "let the pros/artists do their thing" approach to haircutting. i always find that what you see on a pic--*any* pic, even if the hair type looks exactly like yours--is not how it's going to look in RL, so i'd rather let the people who know what they are do their magic, you know? but then, heh, i'm not really the one to stress over a haircut. also, i love Vidal stylists, loooooove theeeemmmm! been going there for years and would never look elsewhere, given a choice.

Hah, I'm not sure I'd even be able to print out screencaps. ^^; I'd probably just make a sketch of how I'd like it to look on my head.

The thing about my hair is that it's reaaaaally thick and coarse and ramrod straight. (And shiny.) Theoretically you could do some astonishing things with that but it's never turned out in reality. Every stylist I go to has always freaked out at the fact that I have three times more hair than normal people and never seem to know what to do with it. For years I stuck to variations on the chin-length geometric bob. XD

totally with you on the diet of congee and almond tofu. i have two right rear molars, one right on top of the other, that are both in the process of being crowned. both have been giving me trouble for some time, and it was decided my dentist wanted to try crowning them some time ago. so, uh, goodbye tax refund. --;;;

anyway, both have undergone the building-up process in preparation for crowning, and the bottom one's had the metal drilled into my jaw and a temporary crown affixed while the permanent one is being cast. i should get a call probably next week telling me the permanent one's in.

the top one, on the other hand, has been absolutely ridiculous ever since the bottom temporary got put on earlier this month...the 9th, i think. visited my dentist a couple times since then; he's filed down the temporary (apparently there was rather more contact than there should've been, though not enough i noticed it just by closing my mouth), and he filed down the built-up bits on the top one. a couple of times. the second time, he took an x-ray of the top tooth and looked to see if i had another of my famous infections (i've had a few, always in molars, and i mentioned that this felt kinda similar to that except it wasn't a constant pain.) no infection. not sure if i'm thankful or not, because at least the presence of infection would explain things. :P

haven't been chewing on that side of my mouth for a couple of months now. and i know there's something going on with one of the molars on the left side of my mouth too; the dentist says there isn't anything wrong with it, but it gets these sensitive twinges.

i'm going to exist on nothing but bubble tea, occasional green tea smoothies, and yeah, congee and almond tofu sound good. and maybe chicken tikka masala without actual chicken bits in unless they're mashed up tiny. XD

I have to call the dentist about getting my wisdom teeth taken out. ALL of them. I've been putting it off for *so* long. ;___;
