If it were the latter, Rukia would have to be a heartless, manipulative bitch. (At least, if you're seeing the Sea of Fertility parallels that that statement evoked for me....)
(This is the sjdrian discussion-starting gambit of "post enigmatic oneliner in place of esoteric tl;dr train of thought, demand votes". XD Basically I have realised a lot of GinRan shippers think they were, well, having sex whereas it seemed to me from Matsumoto's thought processes that she hasn't even really had a conversation with Gin since he disappeared on her as a youth in Rukongai, although they must rub shoulders to the usual extent of top officers in the Gotei 13. But what would explain that - and the vague sense of "awkwaaard" that seems to permeate their interaction? I mean, apart from the whole conspiracy thing. So I thought, etc.)
Is this really one of the habits of sjdr that you should emulate? Although, it is very effective, and maybe I should do that instead of tl;dring, as there is probably an inverse relationship between post length and commenting. XD
Is THAT what's in that Gin/Ran fic you were talking about?
No, but the train of thought sort of followed on what I wrote. XD Sometimes I fic as a way of organizing my ideas, or rather of tossing them into the air and seeing if they make any illuminating patterns when they fall.
Mostly I was forced to read way, way too much of him in pursuit of yon degree. I had a professor who was... well, he sort of went past obsessed into "totally in love".
Mishima is gettable? (More things in heaven and earth, then, and call me Horatio.)
The book wouldn't happen to explain the appeal of Dazai, would it? (I mean, talk about failed love suicides.... Maybe that's what Violence and Noon was really about!) Or maybe the Mishima cliques that survived him and do chinkonsai on anniversaries?
yakuya/Rukia/Renji as written by Mishima Yukio in an alternate universe.
Short stories, or novels? Because, if short stories, can't have more than two characters. At least one of whom is a Teenage Rebel (r). Who ::gasp:: smokes...and is maybe kinda sorta sexually ambiguous too pretty to live.
I'm still, to this day, somewhat traumatized by having to read Sound of Waves...for class...in ninth grade. So bizarrely enough, my familiarity with Mishima is *all* based on the short stories and novellas. In which he *does*, in fact, sound like a proto-shoujo mangaka.
My favorite is still the one wherein the guy spends about thirty pages figuring out the *proper* way to break up with his gf, and then has no idea whatsoever what to do once she doesn't immediately run off and start plotting revenge. Heh.
The second. Because Renji's in love with Rukia but in lust with Byakuya, and we all know that it's a vice-captain's duty to give his captain whatever the captain wants, right?
#2: Not sure who Mishima Yukio is, but making fun of Byakuya = (Y)(Y)(Y). Though the way I look at it, including Rukia in the equation kind of makes it less fun to poke at Byakuya because you're reminded there's one person who does, really really, take him seriously (for about half a year after he was introduced I referred to him as 'aniki').
Ahahaha um it's actually a way of saying "angsty, non-ironic and homg dying sakura blossoms", as opposed to Bleach canon. Although that is really because I can't think of a way to write that while staying IC to Bleach canon and its tendency to devolve into crack.
If I could write Byakuya/Rukia/Renji and have it be complete crack and make fun of Byakuya a lot and still keep it IC I would do it in a NY minute instead of faffing about speculating and asking for opinions, because opportunity to make fun of Byakuya = teh win, always.
(Aizen/Ulquiorra: I should know better than to think you'd've missed that and let me pass. XD)

It would help if I knew what Mishima Yukio had done.
